Posto was one of the first new restaurants on 14th, but is now tired and unoriginal. The space is just one large room, and the path to the restrooms leads patrons outside the restaurant to a common area. The waiter we had was gruff and barged right into our conversation before we knew he was present. The food is okay,... More

This is a 4 star Italian restaurant that is well worth a visit for their pasta. It is all homemade and prepared to order – Tagliatelle (spinach tagliatelle, free range veal Bolognese, tomato sauce, fresh herbs, & parmesan cheese) and Spaghettini (thin spaghetti, assorted seafood, white wine, with a light tomato sauce) were simply divine. For starters we had three... More

I was in a party of six colleagues -- the restaurant was chosen by our host, who has eaten here several times. The bar menu had some unique martinis and wines. The menu was not large but was quite diverse, I had the tuna tartare as an appetizer and a NY Strip steak for dinner. The steak was huge and... More

Posto is the kind of restaurant that you hear about and wonder what's really so good and so noteworthy .. Upon entering the restaurant you not overly blown away by the foyer or the decor and it is somewhat sparse but not in a bad way .. It's just unassuming and doesn't really set you up for the food or... More

I had heard great things about this restaurant and was very disappointed. The restaurant is just a big, open space with hard chairs and floors and a high ceiling; as a result, it is very noisy and it's difficult to carry on a conversation. The service was indifferent and rushed. The food was just okay...no better than that. Our party... More

We ate here last week before a show at the Studio Theater. It's next door to the theater, so a perfect location. They have a pre-theater menu which is extremely reasonable ($29) for 3 courses. We started with the grilled calamari and the salad. The calamari was beautifully prepared and presented, with bread crumbs, asparagus and chilies, producing a nice... More

I visit DC from Europe 2 - 3 times a year. Posto has been a favoured "must" for the past 3 years. The menu changes regularly and there's always something new to try.

Went with a friend for dinner. We shared a pizza and the steak. Both were good, pizza was the spicy sausage, and had decent levels of heat. Ordered a red blend wine which was good and fairly modestly priced, although you can certainly blow your wallet on wine here. The steak was well done, but had more gristle than expected... More

We walked in off the street and shared two amazingly good quality pizza. They gave complimentary bread to us. We were given the choice of indoor or outdoor. Great outside spot for people watching on a warm evening.
