Authentic, enjoyable, and simply good

I had a business dinner here. We enjoyed Posto. It was spacious, comfortable, and with fast service. We began with several dried meats an cheeses and those were as good and as fresh a from Italy. My main course was wild board and fettuccine. All of us had a separate pasta dish and each person... read more

Fantastic home made pastas, amazing daily fresh fish selection, and up to the minute seasonal specials (e.g., right now ramps, morels, and blue soft shell crab). Chef Massimo switched to here from its sister restaurant Tosca and reinvigorated Posto at a more affordable price than Tosca without losing any value in taste or quality. Eat in the comfortable dining room... More

This Italian restaurant offers authentic Italian cuisine. Especially the pizze are recommendable. Service is friendly, choice of dishes somewhat limited to 5-6 choices in each category but one will always find something to his/her liking. Food arrives quickly which is good for theatre goers (Studio Theatres is next door) but hints that it is pre- prepared, not fresh fresh cooked.... More

Amid all the new fun restaurants on 14th is Posto...a fabulous Italian restaurant! It's low key elegance makes it a perfect place to enjoy - go casual or business attire. Regardless, the main feature is the wonderful food! Very authentic and prepared to perfection. The wait staff is attentive. I enjoyed the sea bass...prepared simply...yet so flavorful! The pasta looked... More

On the 14th Street just up the road from our hotel... It has outside Tables on to a busy 14th street... many restaurants around to choose from this has a modern look and feel. We were a party of 10 and they accommodated us quite quickly with no issues. We had a good Italian meal, with kids is hard but... More

We had dinner at Restaurante Posto on a Saturday night. This restaurant is part of the bustling 14th St renaissance that has taken place. Years ago, this was a combat zone, not safe and not a place you would go for a nice meal. How things have changed in DC! The food was excellent and the service was top notch.... More

I went here on the recommendation of my hotel. I had the paparadelle and it was delicious. The pasta tasted very fresh as did the sauce. I was able to get a table here around 7 pm on a weeknight without any wait at all. The prices were reasonable for Washington D.C. The restaurant was quiet, not really cozy. Menu... More

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. First tip should have been it was much less crowded then all the other hot places on 14th street. Atmosphere is very cold -- felt exactly like an upscale museum café -- good for lunch but not for nice dinner. Menu was small and I didn't feel like pizza or pasta, so I... More

We've gone here occasionally since it opened a few years ago before going to the show a few doors away at Studio Theater. To our surprise and pleasure, the restaurant has been quietly getting better and better. Last night our meal was really excellent. We started with a trio from the assortment of small plates at the top of the... More

We had dinner there this past weekend. The menu was interesting but not expansive. Prices were a bit high but I think this is average for the District. Service was OK but not wonderful. Overall it was an average experience but not nearly worth the price.
