We ate here two times and were very disappointed with the service. The food was nothing to highly recommend. There seemed to be strife among the servers. Perhaps it was because we weren't DC elite. Too many other great restaurants to settle for unfriendly and nonwelcoming servers.

I am so happy I brought my family here. It will be a regular on my visits, 5/yr. Why? The service was 100% attentive and was warm while maintaining fine, perfect for us; we're American, not Downton Abbey. The food, everyone's was fall over delicious. The price was the same as other high end places but the experience was better,... More

Elegant decor, polished setting. Food almost excellent. Service from main wait person was harried and spotty. Otherwise enjoyable! All adult family...smaller children not a good match here.

What a beautiful dining experience. You will feel like D.C. royalty here. My husband and 2 small kids had breakfast at the Lafayette prior to our trek to the White House. The restaurant is inside the historic Hay-Adams hotel across the street from the White House so we had a lovely view of the gardens from our table. The prices... More

A beautiful restaurant in a historic hotel with excellent food and service. The restaurant was both spacious and comfortable. The piano music created a very relaxing environment. This is a place for people who like to take their time, enjoy great conversation and wine and dine in style.

Dinner at the Lafayette Restaurant in the iconic Hay-Adams has been near the top of my bucket list for a while. My daughter and I had an early dinner before heading to the Kennedy Center for a concert. I made a reservation for 5:30, which allowed lots of time to savor every moment and not be rushed. The space is... More

although the food and service were a bit 'Heath Robinson.' We ate in a private dining room overlooking the White House (how good was that). The building is glorious. The food was "OK" and the servers were not sensitive to the conversations taking place. The wine list was pretty limited and we were told to order with care to ensure... More

We have tried the Sunday brunch, which is excellent. Besides of lots of seafood and desert choices, you also get to choose a nice entry. Well worth the price! For regular breakfast, you have to try the oatmeal souffle! Everyone has been so kind to my 9 year old little girl to make her feel comfortable! Fruit smooth is healthy... More

My husband and I flew into Washington DC for the weekend and stayed at the Hay Adams. We noticed they had a restaurant and we had friends coming to meet us for lunch on Sunday and thought it will be so much easier if we eat here. We had no idea what to expect. The service was 5 star, the... More
