What a beautiful dining experience. You will feel like D.C. royalty here. My husband and 2 small kids had breakfast at the Lafayette prior to our trek to the White House. The restaurant is inside the historic Hay-Adams hotel across the street from the White House so we had a lovely view of the gardens from our table. The prices... More

A beautiful restaurant in a historic hotel with excellent food and service. The restaurant was both spacious and comfortable. The piano music created a very relaxing environment. This is a place for people who like to take their time, enjoy great conversation and wine and dine in style.

Dinner at the Lafayette Restaurant in the iconic Hay-Adams has been near the top of my bucket list for a while. My daughter and I had an early dinner before heading to the Kennedy Center for a concert. I made a reservation for 5:30, which allowed lots of time to savor every moment and not be rushed. The space is... More

although the food and service were a bit 'Heath Robinson.' We ate in a private dining room overlooking the White House (how good was that). The building is glorious. The food was "OK" and the servers were not sensitive to the conversations taking place. The wine list was pretty limited and we were told to order with care to ensure... More

We have tried the Sunday brunch, which is excellent. Besides of lots of seafood and desert choices, you also get to choose a nice entry. Well worth the price! For regular breakfast, you have to try the oatmeal souffle! Everyone has been so kind to my 9 year old little girl to make her feel comfortable! Fruit smooth is healthy... More

My husband and I flew into Washington DC for the weekend and stayed at the Hay Adams. We noticed they had a restaurant and we had friends coming to meet us for lunch on Sunday and thought it will be so much easier if we eat here. We had no idea what to expect. The service was 5 star, the... More

After making reservations to dine at the Lafayette well in advance, I was called shortly before the day of my reservation to inform me that the restaurant would be closed, but that I would be reseated in the lounge area. Once I heard that I would rather not eat at the Hay-Adams if it meant not eating at Lafayette, I... More

After reading many reviews of the Hay Adams Thanksgiving day buffet, my husband and I decided to go for it. Upon our arrival,we were lead into a wait room where they offer you champagne, and other beverages. I felt out of place because it seemed like this is a place where all the snobby people go, but despite that the... More

Many places confuse good service with snobbishness. Not the Hay Adams. We went for their regular breakfast and were treated really well by waiters. The food was delicious; well made with premium ingredients. Maybe a little expensive $(120 for breakfast for 4) but way better than Starbucks alternative. The only thing that disappointed me is that we did not have... More

We wanted to visit DC. for our wedding anniversary. We wanted a quiet, upscale venue for dinner. We were not disappointed. We ordered soup,(minestrone and a cold English pea soup,) crab cakes, and branzino, and a soufflé for dessert, along with an Australian Sauvignon Blanc. Everything was well prepared and well presented. Our service was impeccable. It is nice to find... More
