I've been to Founding Farmers several times (both this location and the one in Potomac) and it has always been amazing! I made a reservation about a week in advanced for Sunday brunch. It was packed when we arrived, but we only waited a few minutes for our table. If you're going on the weekend (especially for brunch) you'll definitely... More

After our early morning tour of The White House, we were dying for something substantive. We had eaten at Founding Farmers for dinner while visiting DC a few years ago and it was wonderful, so why not try brunch! We didn't have a reservation, but were promptly seated and served. The hot chocolate was the key to warming me up... More

My title says it all: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! This place was great! We dined here Saturday, November 8th 2014. The only reservation they had left was 10:30pm. We were worried, as we usually eat earlier but were told it was worth the wait. We arrived before 10:30, and did not have to wait. We were seated upstairs at a booth... More

We made an early 5:30 pm reservation and decided to show up even earlier on a Sunday afternoon, because we were done with our museum hopping. We thought that at 4:30 pm the place would be quiet, but Founding Farmers was absolutely packed. Who eats at 4:30? In DC the answer is lots of people. We had heard the popcorn... More

I have only eaten here for breakfast but every time it is exceptional. The locally sourced food and excellent preparation make this a can't miss.

This seems to be an effort to turn farm to table into a upscale chain model. At the best farm to table places (Hen of the Wood, Chez Panisse, Central Provisions) the menu changes daily and pride is taken in the sources usually with producers named. Here they repeatedly tell you everything is made in house but the menu seems... More

Hi there- While we try to change our menu seasonally, we also like our signature dishes to remain consistent, so our guests can count on getting their favorite dish every time they visit. We want to source locally whenever possible, but unfortunately being in the North East, it is not always feasible without changing our menu completely. I can assure... More

Founding Farmers restaurant suffers from its own popularity. The service is mediocre, it is always crowded and noisy, it is very expensive, and the food is marginal at best. My husband and I ate there last night for the last time. We both ordered seafood and both of our meals were overcooked, tasteless, and not very appealing to the eye.... More

Hi there, Wow, I am completely mortified to read about your recent trip to Founding Farmers. It sounds like we dropped the ball on multiple fronts, from the overwhelming ambiance to the mediocre food. We absolutely agree that each dish should be appealing to every one of the senses and we let you down with taste and presentation. We never... More

I've been on Founding Farmers after a 5 hours trip from Panama to DC. We were starving, and we had to find a really good restaurant, as we were in a terrible mood. The guy who took us from the airport to the hotel commented about a restaurant called Founding Farmers. "Great," we thought, "let's go there!" I ate one... More

Founding Farmers, located in DC near the edge of the George Washington University Campus, prides itself on offering quality and all natural ingredients on its menu. It's "farm to table" at it's best. The ingredients are sourced from all over the world, with specific attention to quality and minimizing their carbon footprint. On my recent visit, I tried the Goat... More
