This was my first visit to the shoppe. I have been told and told how wonderful the cheese is and how knowledgable the staff are and how willing they are to help. Well I am a believer now. The cheese was fantastic, love the Mt Tam!! The staff just seem to love what they do!

If you're looking for a terrific cheese shop, then Cowgirl Creamery is the place to go. There is a back area devoted to cheeses, and a few stations throughout the small shop with wine, crackers, coffee, and prepared cold sandwiches. There is a counter in the front with a limited amount of warm sandwiches, and about four seats if you... More

We've been here a few times. Whenever we are on F Street we stop in and get their delicious honey to take home. They have a wonderful section of cheese. Also a good place to pick up a bottle of wine. The help here are so friendly.

There's no question about it, Cowgirl Creamery is THE place for cheese aficionados, and I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. My only gripe is that its selection is somewhat limited. In addition to their standards (e.g. the heavenly Humboldt Fog) they bring in a number of other cheeses on a rotating basis. This is nice, but it can... More

My favorite place in the neighborhood to pick up a snack to take with me. Great cheese and crackers, dried fruit, and condiments, and super friendly sale staff eager to give you a taste

This is a great place to check out for good artisan cheese. The staff are friendly, knowledgable and know what they're taking about. There's no snootyness at all, as well. They're definitely worth talking to and taking a recommendation from. Additionally, they sell wines and a small selection of craft beers. They even have sandwiches for sale, which I'm sure... More

Found this while doing the stray boots walking tour of dc. This was a breath of fresh air among the high-end chains in penn quarter. Chocolates, cookies, coffee, cheeses and wines. Free wine and cheese tasting on friday nights!

I've been buying from Cowgirl Creamery since it first opened in Washington. (I've been to the original in Sonoma County but that was a whole other experience) I think everything has gotten more expensive here. The cheese, the wine, the lunches, the accoutrement. And with the proliferation of really excellent cheese shops around the DC metro area, the Cowgirls are... More

The cheese mongers in the shop really know what they are selling and try to be very helpful. I purchased the Mt. Tam, a triple cream cheese, and loved it, it was very decadent and I will be back to purchase more! At the time I visited, there were only full rounds of the cheese and the staff was kind... More
