We were early customers, but the place filled up fast. Our meal was beautifully cooked, promptly and carefully served, and totally consumed with delight. The wine was very subtle, just as we like it. The space is very narrow, much like a railroad diner, but the charm makes up for it. The prices are lower than most of the much... More

Comfortable European dining atmosphere, great food and service. Started with pumpkin soup and then had the traditional moules et frites - tasty and satisfying. My wife was very satisfied with her hanger steak. Our two very good friends had gnocchi and the special, rock bass. We had a very satisfying Sancerre "sattellite" with the meal and finished with profiteroles, creme... More

Maybe we ordered the wrong dish......maybe the mussels would have been a better choice? In either case, I was very disappointed and, most likely, will never return. To begin with, the presentation of this meal was sad and did not not entice one's appetite. The lobster was undercooked, soggy and tasteless and the Belgian fries no more special than store-bought... My husband and I have visited this wonderful NW Washington restaurant twice. We especially love the mussels and the rich velvety beef stew made with dark ale. It is a neighborhood restaurant and the ambience reflects a warm neighborly feel. It is very popular so it is wise to call ahead to make reservations.

Disclaimer: My ratings are based upon the classification the restaurant falls under. In this instance, Et Voila, is trying to be a fine dining establishment so I am rating it against its peers in the fine dining segment. Not sure what that no nothing clown Tom Sietsma was talking about. While the food was edible (And it started fairly strong),... More

Et Viola serves up terrific meals, hands down. It consistently gets great reviews and deserves them. The menu is decidedly Belgian bistro/classic and the prep, presentation and taste are wonderful. I've lived in Belgium and had far lesser quality meals. And, the cost is relatively reasonable given the quality. Service was friendly and wine and beer choices diverse. I met... More

We celebrated with three at this great neighborhood place. On a Wednesday, it was bustling - and the food was excellent - from wonderful oysters to amazing beef, we loved it. The service is quick and the tables close, but that adds to the European feel that begins with the Tin Tin posters at the entrance and is furthered by... More

It's no surprise that you have to make a reservations days/week or two in advance on a Friday/Saturday night. This is a fantastic little spot in the Palisades. Very authentic French/Belgian cuisine with everything from Escargot to Octopus to Mussels on the menu. The portions are generous, the staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and accomodating, and of course the food...... More

Belgium is home to some of the best restaurants in the world, and the majority are a family affair. No different at Et Voila where the owner is the chef and making sure what comes out of the kitchen meets his high standards. The restaurant feels like an authentic European neighborhood restaurant with a team that has been there for... More

First, the restaurant is in a charming neighborhood with lots of parking available on the streets nearby. The ambiance is pure Belgian or French bistro - lots of noise and very pretty. Went recently with my wife and another couple, and we all thought that the place was really very good. I couldn't resist having French onion soup, followed by... More
