Expensive, Noisy, but Good

This is a little neighborhood restaurant, very crowded the night we went. The layout is long and thin with hard surfaces, with tables set close together, so it is noisy. But the service is friendly and helpful, and our food was very good. Three of us had the lamb shank special--sort of an... read more

We have been there several times. Often we both get the steamed mussels that are available with several different seasonings. This time the mussels were large tender ones from Nova Scotia and a large serving of about 30. We have lived in France and often visited Belgium and the dishes here taste just like good restaurants over there. If you... More

Et Voila is located out of Washington's downtown, in the Palisades. We are locals, and enjoy it more than any other DC restaurant. Lovely service and carbonnade to die for.

My wife and I had been wanting to come to this neighborhood bistro for a long time, and after finally making it here it did not disappoint at all. The cozy, intimate and minimalist decor takes a back seat to the fine food and service. You can't go wrong with a pot of mussels and pommes frites or the delicious... More

We have loved "Mussels in Brussels" so thought we would try this. It was perfect! Small, super staff, good beers and wine, and excellent moulies! We shared escargot appetizer and had mussels mariniere and pastis with frites naturally. We will be back!!

Had a wonderful time here. The place is small but seems just right. The waiter, Belgian, very cool fellow. Funny, i ordered a bottle of Champagne and before i tasted the glass the waiter had taken the bottle and glasses away as he said "the pop, she was not right!"! Replaced the bottle. Had steak frites. Was perfect. Really the... More

We have eaten here numerous times. It's small (accommodating perhaps 50 diners max) so if you don't have a reservation you may have to wait. And we've noticed they've reduced the number of mussels options over the years. But this is still arguably THE place to go if you are a serious mussel aficionado, as my wife and I both... More

This was our second visit. The first time, I ordered a Mussels dinner and they brought me the mussels appetizer. This time, we had skipped lunch so we ordered a soup for each of us and a goat cheese appetizer to boot from our waiter. We said we needed a few minutes to decide on entrees. The managers asked if... Very enjoyable dinner. We started with Paté de Campagne and the Croustillant de Chevre Chaud. The pate was very good. The chevre wasn’t chaud but actually came cold. My Carbonnade a la Flamande with Belgian frites more than made up for it. This classic was delicious and spot on with flavorings. My husband had the duck confit which was excellent.... More

I first ate lunch here with my realtor, and that sold me on the Palisades neighborhood in DC. I brought friends for a weekend dinner and we had a perfect meal. For starters we had house cured salmon and a Caesar salad. Both were so good we considered asking for second portions and skipping the entrees. But when the entries... More
