Trendy. Get here early. Never assume a seat is available.

Comfort food meets urban chic at the intersection of 18th and a good time with Euro-, Intergalactic-, and artsy-fartsy axes. Like axis but multiple. Bring a few bucks and let them bring you the food slowly, don't go on rushin' outta this place because you deserve to sink back into that couch and... read more

Tryst is probably the most atmospheric café in downtown DC. Located in Adams Morgan, it has a genuine café vibe, and you can see all kinds of DC locals here. If you're in downtown DC, you should give it a try.

Was strolling through the neighborhood when I popped in for a coffee. Ended up eating a salmon bagel as well. Both were large and well priced. Coffee was great and cheaper than the green chain...

The atmosphere was fantastic, a combination of students, tourists, and locals made this Coffee house a gold nugget while visiting Washington DC. I had the a bananas with dates smoothie with a pinch of cinnamon which hit my thirst, the frozen coffees were excellent as well! The pieces of furniture: sofas, coaches, chairs of every style, color, and tables of... More

I used to like Tryst Coffeehouse and today was my last day; I will ever go there again. After 5 minutes of sitting down, the waiter was too pushy for me to buy something or leave the place. I was given an excuse that after 15 minutes of siting down and if I did not order anything, then I had... More

Everytime when I'm in Washington, I'm having breakfast at Tryst. Even though it is a 20 Min walk from the hotel I'm staying. I really enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, great caffee and food, free wifi and outdoor seating. Service is not always on the same level but still good.

Just strolled past and fancied lunch. Went in and was not disappointed. Good food and friendly staff. Some reviews have said staffing is poor. We find them friendly and helpful but in no rush to pressure us into ordering or leaving once we'd had our fill. Great all ground.

Always excellent food. The service is good albeit, a little slow from time to time. However, they don't bug you for your table and it is a great place to meet up with friends!
