When I go to D.C., I always plan to stop in at Tryst in the morning if I have time. Located in Adams Morgan, I will walk or take a cab from wherever I happen to be. Sometimes I stay the morning. I start with their big cup of wonderful coffee (with two animal crackers--wish they'd bring me four), then... More

Great place for lunch after visiting the Cathedral. Free parking onsite on weekends. Interesting menu, including gluen-free pastries. We enjoyed the soup and salad.

Me and my boyfriend went out to dinner on a Friday night to Tryst Coffee House for the first time. I had the masala chai, which was really warm and tasty. I also had the nachos locos which were amazing! The entree is big enough for about 2 people. It was so delicious! The scenery and the music were really... More

Really enjoy this slice of Adams Morgan. Good food and coffee -- but let's be honest, you come here for the atmosphere. Great service and the best place in DC to people-watch.

Had a great coffee (mocha) and breakfast. Both inside and outside seating. Very friendly waitstaff. Inside is bit eclectic, but has a cool vibe if you want to just hang out. Large menu, with great breakfast / brunch items (and more).

Tryst is a wonderful place, to be sure. It's a throwback to those days when neighborhood coffee shops were social gathering places to chat with friends. Before the advent of the electronic octopus called the wi-fi this is what Tryst must have been like, once. When I was there out of 18 people who were sitting around only 4 were... More

We went here twice on our visit, the first time was for an early lunch and the sandwiches were lack luster. Mine was oscar meyer roast beef, and not much else, it was really disappointing. We decided to return the next evening because because the cocktails look good, and they were. The appetizers we ordered with our drinks were great,... More

European cafe culture outside of Europe? Waiters not rushing to offer your check after you finish your drinks? Sign me up! Tryst stays true to cafe culture, but does so in a modern way. There are a few tables outside, and plentiful couches and chairs inside. Drinks come with a pair of animal crackers. Tea, served in a large pot... More
