Best meal in Trinidad

This is a beautiful place to have dinner in one of the most beautiful colonial (former) homes in Trinidad. The menu is diverse and the food is excellent.

Service is definitely rather slow which might have been because we were somewhat out of sight in wine cellar. But we enjoyed it and mostly the food was pretty good by Cuban standards. Not as good as Paladar estella. This seems more of restaurant than typical of paladar tradition. Quite expensive. Building is like a museum or antique shop and... More

Visited this restaurant several times on our trip to Trinidad, it was charming and eccentric. Although the food wasn't wonderful and rarely matched the description in the menu, the decor, beautiful china, glassware and cutlery were sublime. The waiters were part of the charm with their traditional uniforms, and we enjoyed some lovely live music from a trio of young... More

Sol Ananda is right on the edge of Plaza Mayor so you can't really miss it. Various travel guides and casa owner recommended this place, but I feel I am being very generous giving it a 3 out of 5. The place is invariably busy and very touristy. The interior is interesting and historical and they even have one of... More

Although we are curious people who like to test different places when abroad, we went to Sol Ananda every night when we were in Trinidad. The food is excellent while equally "expensive" as elsewhere (10-15 CUC per meal) and the place itself is unique. You sit like in a museum. The nights we had dinner in Sol Ananda they had... More

This beautiful palador is yet another example of a privately owned Cuban restaurant well-located and meticulously presented, with grand notions of a European style restaurant that fails to match value with quality. Yet again, we were attracted by an interesting menu only to be presented with food that only ostensibly matched the description and delivered very few of the flavours... More

The Location itself is simply amazing . Basically it is a museum where you have your meal. Everything from the silver cutlery, the hand made table clothes is perfect. For the first time in Trinidad, when I ordered a copa de vino it was served directly from the bottle! And the food was delicious.. Finally some different taste in Cuba... More

I ate here twice - the ambiance is beautiful. You get to sit amidst beautiful furniture. They actually serve vegetarian mains. I had the mushroom curry which was so good - it used Indian spices and I was surprised. Apparently the Indian ambassador to Cuba eats there when he visits Trinidad. Maybe he provided the curry powder and spices to... More

It's a very strange setting - a colonial house feel with tables in random rooms (some of the ones with beds in are particularly strange). We went without a booking for a late-ish dinner. It took them a while to come to seat us and it wasn't the fastest meal but the staff are good once you're seated. The menu... More

Set in a fabulous colonial house, we had to book two evenings in advance....the food and ambiance, helped by a talented musical troupe is that good. Chandeliers, antique furniture and first class service to go with the great food cooked by talented chefs.
