Enjoyed the food

Another prior reservation that went astray! It was Christmas Day, so we went at midday to check our evening booking, but they had no record! Another prior reservation that went astray! It was Christmas Day, so we went at midday to check our evening booking, but they had no record! They said it was not uncommon for reservations to be "lost", but as the restaurant was full they kindly offered us a metal garden table and chairs in a small courtyard. We enjoyed our food... More

When you enter the restaurant it is like a jump into a different century. Each room is individually equipped with furniture, deco elements and porcelain from the 18th century. It seems to be a museum. Even the bed from the former wife is still there. The building from 1750 is directly located at the Plaza Major. The menu offers both... More

I am so glad I came to this restaurant it showed me what Cuba coulud be and I hope as it develops will become. The owner has made an effort with decor - it is artistic Service is polite and skilled (not all cuba is happy smiley service you have to cross grim soviet russian scowl with latin temperament to... A family owned restaurant in the oldest house in town. A nice walk from anywhere to the center of town. Staff had some problems with English but were very accommodating. When flys were bothering us early in the evening, they offered to move us to the air conditioned wine cellar--even though we hadn't complained. Menu has a bit of an... More

Set in the home of a local Trinidadian who goes to India quite a bit, the Indian influence can be seen in some of the dishes on the menu- there are also samosas for the Brits that miss a good curry! The settings are stunning and add to the overall ambience. While the food is not as excellent as the... More

We enjoyed our dinner here. The restaurant is inside a restored colonial home nicely decorated with antique furnishings, etc. On the evening we were there there were three large tourist groups dining but despite that, we had good service. The food was excellent and there was a good band that moved from room to room. It was certainly the smartest restaurant... More

This is the most ordinary food I've eaten for such exorbitant prices! Except for the wonderful building and decorations, there is nothing good I can say about this place. The food is tasteless, the portions are small, you really need to order everything from appetizers to desert to make sure you are fed. All this for really high prices. I... More

Went here for lunch and had the best fish we had in Cuba. The Cubans tend to overcook their fish (who know why!) but this was not only the biggest lobster we have ever had, but also the best fish we had in Cuba! Rice and beans were also great, as was the flan for dessert.

The band was Cuarteto Isla and they were hot. The waiters were having as much fun as the patrons. The food and drinks were great. Best night of the trip!

The atmosphere in this lovely old colonial home adds a lot to the enjoyable food. I was there on a people-to-people cultural exchange and enjoyed eating especially at the various paladors in Cuba.
