Great food!

The setting is lovely, I went there many times and sometimes the service can be a bit slow. If you're patient you won't have a problem! Otherwise everything is very very good.

It was pouring with rain when we got here, and realised that all the seating is outdoors. However, there were no other people in the restaurant, so we were led to a table in a sheltered courtyard that was nice and dry. Service was friendly and attentive, and when I asked for the recipe for the feitunta (a kind of... More

The setting is what sold us. So magical this terrace surrounding the giant Ceiba tree. We ate two lunches and a dinner there. Lunches were the best experience. Service and food were superior to our dinner experience. Local seafood is excellent.

We were recommended this restaurant by the woman whose house we were staying at. We were seated upstairs with a view into the back yard of a very unkempt house. The trees above us were beautiful, the musicians who played were terrific. There was a rich local Cuban family there - they work for the National TV - kid even... More

Clearly some people love this place, and others don't. We had a very good lunch, sitting under the tree that gives its name to the restaurant, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was typically Cuban, although perhaps a touch better than average, but the surroundings were definitely above average. It was not crowded when we went, and the service was... More

Highly rated on Lonely Planet and hence thronged. The food was ok but expensive and we had better in Trindad and every other town we visited in Cuba. The setting is fabulous but not sure the queues and the hype are worth it.

We ate here for our last evening in Trinidad, and it was an excellent choice, as recommended by the Lonely Planet guidebook. From the outside, with the door closed, it doesn't look like anything. But when the door is open, La Ceiba is quite large, with tables on multi-levels. We had a 6:30 pm reservations and talked with the doorman... More

I went there during a trip to Cuba and I was impressed by the quality of food, service, atmosphere and the overall experience.... If I go back to Cuba this will be a place where I want to go back for Sure!

This is one to be avoided I feel. We were recommended to try this restaurant and got a 'deal' from an employee on the street but the options were chicken, pork and fish (typical for Cuba). Myself and a friend had the pork, but it tasted a bit odd so we did not eat most of it. Overall a poor... More

After a walk down the hallway of the elegant family home, you arrive at the restaurant at the back of the property. The view of the hills is beautiful in the outdoor setting underneath the magnificent old Ceiba tree which the waiter told me was about 400 years old. Although the prices are bit more than elsewhere, the food was... More
