The restaurant is housed in a delightful colonial style house with all the antique furniture still in situ. The food was good, well served and as everywhere a band came in to play whilst you ate. Best seats are in the courtyard which may not be laid out so ask.

Absolutely gorgeous ambiance at this restaurant. Food was delicious. Service was good too. I recommend going at night, the atmosphere really seems to come alive. The place is definitely more of a tourist attraction, but it is still worth a visit!

Our group of eight had reservations and we were seated at three different tables in the front of the lovely dining room. The proud owner of the house and restaurant explained the menu for the evening and took our orders. My husband ordered a bottle of wine. He was then taken by the owner to the wine cellar to make... We came across this restaurant by chance. Its owners also run a casa particular (they rent 3 rooms in the nearby modern building).. which is a real juwel, btw. Unexpectedly, we found shelter in their amazing house and in this way we learnt about the existence of the restaurant Sol y Son. It used to be listed in the Lonely... More

I just loved the interior of this paladar! The restaurant is in the patio area of a colonial house. You go through the main rooms of the house which look like a museum in order to reach the patio. The courtyard is beautifully decorated with exotic plants, bananas and a little fountain in the middle of the patio. We went... More

We ate here three times during our stay in Trinidad . Lovely courtyard setting with tables around a fountain. There is also an undercover area around the courtyard. You enter through the living room with bedrooms off, set as if it was the 1890s !!! Beautiful old furniture with an enormous bed and wardrobes. Amazing !! On all 3 nights... More

When we first walked in to Paladar Sol y Son, I thought we walked into someone's house. Will we did. Some tables were in a courtyard, lots of interesting vintage art and furniture. Really beautiful. We were the first 2 to walk in but after 6:30 the place was full. Service was good although a bit slow but I didn't... More

This restaurant is ok but not exceptional. The food and service was average. The service was abit slow. The musicians did not play for long and played the same songs in each set. We were able to hear several sets due to the slow service! The restaurant was full. It was higher priced than many. With so many options in... More

We ate here twice during our stay in Trinidad, (the rest if the time at our Casa) and thoroughly enjoyed it. They serve appetising Cuban food in huge portions, but as always you don't have to eat all of it!
