We phoned to book and they were very accommodating for a late lunch saying they had a table next to the window for us. The views are spectacular and we quickly found out the food was to match. While quite pricey we all absolutely loved our meals. The venison carpaccio was melt in your mouth and full of flavour. The... More

I was attracted to have lunch at Te Whau, by what I heard of the vista from this restaurant. The various local awards, proudly adorning their website, suggested that the food would match the scenery. Unfortunately, the food here is no match for the spectacular views. The entrée of venison capaccio was confused with the mix of flavours and lacked... More

Cleverly persuaded to order the vineyards wine we were not disappointed. The Chardonnay is up there And I can see why the Syrah (Shiraz) is up... More

We recently had lunch here and were blown away by how nice the views and food were. We did come at a super nice day, which is always a bonus. The drive from the ferry terminal to the vineyard was scenic, and when we did arrive, the short walk to the restaurant, passing the vines, were excellent. They would have... More

The food here is ok, apart from the free hair that came with mine, that wasn't so good. I have been here many times over the years and I think the issue with it now is that it still thinks it's an awesome place to eat, but hasn't changed much over the years. If you are prepared to spend this... More

Visited on a sunny April lunch time. Place was packed so glad we reserved. Food was lovely...it is amazing how the chefs produce such good food in such a tiny area in view of diners. Staff very pleasant and although were busy did not appear stressed. Although expensive there was no pretentiousness. However...I would not go back as Waiheke boast... More

Set menu on Fri nights, good choice and very tasty food. Excellent service and lovely bottle of Te Whau red wine to compliment the meal. Would recommend to others and will be back.

We got to the restaurant through the Ananda food and wine tour, spent a wonderful lunch at Te Whau, the spectacular view from the restaurant bought us to heaven on the table, we choose fish and lanb for main dish with a recommended wine matching, so fresh and tender meat, hot soup and bread so tempting, we were so full... There is something special about the wine people on Waiheke - and Tony is a great host with an endless passion for his winery and wine in general. Feast your eyes on the collection of empty aged bordeaux wines layering the tasting room and you know this is a serious wine joint! Spend a while talking to Tony about Te... More
