Unmitigated disaster. I do not know why we endured.

The only good thing here was the spectacular view across the sound. We waited 30 minutes before a waitress showed up, and had already had to go to get our own drinks. The food was slow and when it arrived it was tasteless. We saw one couple try their food, complain and leave, which is exactly what... read more

My sister and I stopped at Le Cafe for a drink after a day site seeing. We enjoyed it so much we decided to stay for dinner. We were not disappointed. The fish of the day, Snapper, was delicious, the service very good and the weather perfect. A great place to enjoy Picton!

Delicious tomato mushroom risotto with buffalo mosarella, a large side of steamed vegetables: parsnips, zucchini, carrots, purple onion, celery, potatoes. All fresh, nicely presented and bountiful. The servers were friendly and efficient. Our last dinner in New Zealand, we watched the sun set on the harbor and a fabulous month stay!

This restaurant has a nice view of the sound (across the road) and a cosy atmosphere. The service was very good and we had 2 mains, a bottle of wine and 2 liqueur coffees for $120.

it took 1.5 hours to serve four of us our food. Completely disorganized. Seven folks on the communal table left after two lots of drinks and no sign of food. Food is ok if/when it eventually arrives. I can't understand the other reviews unless they were when the place was quiet

We sat outside as lovely sunny day, but very awkward with table on such a slant, great if we didn't have to put our own pile of serviettes underneath table to level. We had the antipasta platter to share between the two of us, as other platters going out looked nice. The reality was at $19.50 it was only a... More

We ate here twice. Both times I had superbly cooked shelflfish. In fact, this was the best seafood I had anywhere in New Zealand. One time I ate the green lipped mussels, and the second time I had clams cooked with ginger and green onion. Both times the food was done to a T, not overcooked, and the sauces were... More

We went for brunch. The outdoor seating was not ideal as the surface is not level and no attempt had been made to "stabilize" the tables. Rather than end up with coffee in our laps we moved inside. There seemed plenty of staff, but none seemed very interested in serving the customers. My wife finally went to the counter and... More

We had a pizza, shared a salad and then a delightful desert. This is a causal dining spot and is great for afternoon coffee and catching up on the newspaper or enjoying the harbour views. Friendly staff. We ventured here three times during our stay in Picton.

got greeted by friendly staff immediately-I got some average service at some Marlborough places, but 100% good here. once seated(outside) the waiter brought me some newspapers to read, as I was dining alone. A nice touch-never done for me before. Each waiter seemed to attend to their own customers, as the same guy served me all evening, making you feel a... More
