Description: Nestled in the picturesque town of Picton at the top of the South Island,...
Nestled in the picturesque town of Picton at the top of the South Island, New Zealand, and at the gateway to the beautiful Marlborough Sounds, is the ‘Crow Tavern. A home away from home for the local residents of Picton and tourists as well. Located on the town square it is the only Tavern in town and is surrounded by a residential area. The Crow has a full restaurant, public bar, lounge bar, bottle store, smoking area, gaming room and garden bar. It is a place where business is done, jokes are told and celebrations are held. The ladies feel comfortable in the bar and the staff and patrons are one big family. Customers share their family occasions here and sit outside in the pretty garden bar all summer long. In winter the huge open fire is a big draw card along with the big screen TVs for watching the rugby.Around the tavern are many photos of local rugby teams, fishing excursions and boats in precarious positions previously owned by local patrons. The Tavern was first built in 1855 and has been rebuilt twice since. The Crow is one of the few places in Marlborough with history of the area on the walls. The restaurant has a wall dedicated to ‘The Echo’, one of the oldest ships in the world which is now beached at Shelly beach near the town center.

Good Pub Grub!

Had dinner here on a Friday night whilst staying at a local B&B. The bar was absolutely packed with people which was a surprise - the place looks like a bit of a dive from the outside. In fact, we only went there on the recommendation of our host! The menu consisted of typical pub grub at... read more

90% locals and a genuine NZ experience. The landlord is a very generous man who works extremely hard to ensure that both patrons and visitors are happy. Drop in for a pint and some great pub fun. This is a pub and restaurant fun of character with a professional management. Highly recommended. Great value.

Omg I could eat here every night... it is real good basic food. The roast needs to be the best buy $16 gets a half meal (it is huge) and $22 for a full.size meal. Six different veges gravy and a pile of meat. The setting is very dated but almost cute cos it's so old fashioned and you do... More

We ate here for our evening meal. It was across the square from the Sequoia Lodge where we were staying for the night. Called in at 7:30 to find the tavern full of 'early doors' drinkers having a well earned pint on the way home. Most had gone by 8:30. We were served by a very friendly guy who couldn't... More

Very pleasant evening with friends and the bar meal...fish and chips on a Tuesday evening...was really good. Different bar meal for different nights of the week or order what you want from the restaurant. Terrific value for money and we look forward to doing it again...and again...and again! Lovely atmosphere as well.

Certainly is an old pub which could do with an upgrade but does have good meals at really good prices.

Nothing fancy here, but there's cheap food which is pretty decent, beer and a fire. Plenty of locals who were very friendly. Pool table too!

This is a great local pub where you have a chance to talk with the locals in the area. Great live music on the Saturday night when we were there.

Watched All Blacks vs Springboks and a game of the Pumas vs the Walibis. Great, tense games and learned alot about rugby. Good beer, fireplace and friendly locals, what more can you wish for.

Visited this pub with my husband.. This pub needs demolishing or a huge refurbish. It lacks any character or charm that some other old pubs have. It was cold unless you sat right next to the fire. Decided we would stay and have a meal only because it was raining. Bad mistake, the steak my husband had was the worse... More
