Great food

Very good menu at this restaurant in the hotel the wine selection was good too and the food was lovely. We ate here once as we were staying in the hotel but would eat here again if we were in Picton.

I made a reservation with some trepidation, after reading some of the reviews. We found the decor very tastfully set out. Lovely soothing backround music. Th Chef really new his stuff, as the food was superb. I would recomend this restaurant to all.

We did not stay at the hotel but ate at the restaurant Whaler's. Unfortunately this was the worst meal of our trip. The fettuccine was undercooked with clumps of pasta and the prawn was over cooked. When we made an enquiry about the fettuccine we got a strange explanation about the heat control of the pot and then she said... More

The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, real coffee provided in the room and we had a verandah with lovely views over Picton harbour.

We were advised by the hosts at our B and B to call before we went because there are often large groups of tourists that come in on busses. We did so and were told that they would have a large group and we should come early if we wished to have a more quiet dinner. When we arrived at... More

I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before we ate here. Whalers is the in-house restaurant at the Beachcomber Inn and it has some pretty poor reviews. The quality of the food may depend on which chef is working, I don't know but once we got over the shock of the Xmas decorations (eight laden trees at least plus loads... More

Had dinner here and was disappointed in the meals. The service and response to my complaint was very good but for the price the food quality is poor. Vegetables not cooked properly, kids meal with beans not peas as it says on the menu and other let downs across all courses. There are other places in Picton I would eat... More

Our group consisted of two couples and we decided last minute we would dine out.We walked in off the street and were seated after a short (15 min) wait at the bar. I ordered a roast lamb meal, two others had steak and one chicken. All meals arrived promptly, were well presented and of generous proportion. The lamb was delicious and the accompanying... More
