Very good value for money with a good choice of food. This is not an upmarket restaurant but the staff were friendly and there is plenty of room.

Last Monday week the Picton Walking Club partook of lunch at the Barn, but I elected to have a brunch. Now while I have to be honest and say I have had better brekkies the mushroom sauce was really smooth, and Gina (mine host) always puts plenty on one's plate, and a good cup of coffee to wash it down.... The meals were very good and the Café was very clean and tidy, the service was very good also. Blue Cod was cooked to perfection.

Typical restaurant grub (think burgers, fish and chips) in a kitschy 90's barnhouse setting. Didn't like the atmosphere but the staff were nice. They need to putting ore flavour on their food though.

While staying in Picton I found this restaurant to be one of my favourites. The atmosphere and décor are warm and friendly. The steak I ordered was succulent and tender and the mushroom sauce was delicious. The meal was very good value as the portion size was very generous. The staff were very friendly and chatty. I would recommend dining... More

Recommended by Kent at Gateway Motel as a place to get good grub. Went in early after a day out dolphin watching and found ourselves alone with a piano player. Once ordered the other customers started to come in. This is what I call a good honest Kiwi eatery that serves full hearty meals at a good price. Added bonus... More

I felt sorry for the dear old chap behind the counter. It took him an age to take our breakfast orders. So long that other customers walked out. They were very impatient, our breakfast arrived and the six of us all got what we ordered. The food was average. But hit the spot. I think I will try somewhere else... More

We had breakfast, the man taking our order was very slow and took ages getting it sorted, the service was very slow and the food was just average, however the cook was a pleasant young fellow.

Nice little place on High Street. Decided to have a full NZ breakfast and it was OK for $16.20 with our room key discount from the Gateway Hotel. Would have been $18.00 otherwise. Only one egg, fatty bacon, musrhooms, 1 small tomato and one sausage. 1 piece of bread so thin that you could almost see through it and no... More
