A friend of mine in Wellington reccommended this little takeaway shop in Picton to me and I can see why! The place is very tidy, the tall young man who served us was very polite and helped us pick our meal - blue cod and chips. The blue cod tasted fresh and the chips were perfectly crunchy. Very disappointed. Only 1 person of the 5 ate their fish. The fish seemed unfresh, strong smelling and very greasy. Even the pineapple fritter was thin and unappetizing. The staff were lovely and the shop was very clean so the food really let them down.

We noted that a lot of locals were using the takeaways outlet so decided to try it. The shop was very clean and the service was courteous and efficient There fish and chips were well cooked and their meat patties are large and very tasty. Would consider that this was good value for money

It's wasn't bad for a chippy but overpriced for what it is and on top of that they charge you for tomato ketchup sachets (something that unfortunately seems to be common in nz). I think it says something about Picton the fact that a chippy is ranked no. 4 in the restaurants section. There weren't many better alternatives.

We have eaten here twice on our trip. Lovely staff, the best fish and scallops. Nice touch in the kumera chips.

....as the burgers were pretty average (smaller than expected for the price, and the pattie looked suspiciously like one of the ones you'll find in the freezer at the supermarket). The chips however were delicious - crunchy on the outside, fluffy in the middle, just the way they should be. I really wish I'd had the fish now.

We really enjoyed our fish and chips. Delcious! We were not sure how to order and the friendly staff helped us pick.

Great little place that produces excellent fish and chips - had takeaway from here 2 nights and both times it was excellent. Reasonably priced but be prepared for a short wait as it gets very busy in the summer.

Yes the best fish & chips we have eaten in a long while. Succulent blue cod in a crisp batter and crisp chips with no residue oil in the wrapper. Must be new premises as everything was clean and well organised. Enjoyed eating in the splendid marina area which Picton must be proud of.
