Worth waiting for!

We had to wait a while for our fish and chips because the woman running it was working alone. But when they came they were some of the best I've ever tasted! Definitely worth the wait!

We thought we would pop in for a quick dinner based on the excellent reviews. Unfortunately we didn't have the same experience as others. In particular the battered fish was bland and dry. Even our kids left half of theirs. The chips were nicely cooked though. Have had much better F&Cs in many places around NZ.

Passed by to pick up some fish, scallops and chips. Food was tasty, quality good, great price and very friendly young looking local girl who gave us good descriptions about the different kinds of fish served.

This place was packed with queues on the street the first night we arrived and we heard them saying no more orders we are sold out a good hour before closing time. Needless to say don't wait to the last minute The fish was fresh and we saw them preparing everything in front of us. Be sure not to miss... More

Nice Fish n Chips. Take a we while to cook, but I think worth the wait. Top of the South Island prices 1scoop chips $3.50 . Fish prices were approx $5-7 Cold drinks available. Can take away and go and sit down on the grass or the lovely wharf area opposite and watch the boats/ferry come and go.

Convenient place to get a traditional fish and chips to eat by the water's edge, but unfortunately the food wasn't cooked well... heavy and greasy.

Went into this place twice during our stay in Picton in November. Ordered the pearl shark fish with chips, and it was very good.. went back a few days later and ordered a hamburger, which was the best I had tasted... very good takeaway..good value for money..

Your average Picton price for Fish & Chips. The Chips are good & the Fish was very nice. Very good customer service but it did take a while which surprised me as there was only me & one other customer but the food made up for the wait
