Vegetarian snacks

Picton Village Bakkerij makes a great vegetarian pie and vegetarian slabs (mini pizza type thing). Friendly staff and the premises have always looked clean and fresh.

Great baked goods at reasonable prices. The mincemeat tarts were fabulous and reasonably priced. Makes you wish Christmas was all year round.

This is the kind of bakeriys you might find in a city, not in a small town, when if they are a bakery, they have no reason to offer such quality produce. However this place is an exception. Really yummy pies and lots of sweet treats. If you are trying to lose weight, give this place a miss ;)

This European-style bakery is a real jewel, and is a refreshing change from meat pies and crumpets. Absolutely worth a visit while in Picton.

The pies and various snacks on offer here all appear to be home made and home produced on the day. They certainly taste like it. We are spending a week in Picton and this has become a regular place to get a pie for lunch (an amazing selection) or a savoury snack to take on a picnic. Friendly and helpful... More

Visited here late one afternoon, purchased a croisant with ham, cheese and salad and a pie. The croisant was fresh, tasty and the portion was big. The pie was very good, like pies used to taste like, lots of meat and delicious pastry. The sandwich and pie menu was extensive and the staff will prepare sandwiches to order. There is... More

Must visit, must sample from stunning array of quality continental-inspired food -- so fresh, and an exceptionally wide selection. It includes NZ traditions like Afghan biscuits (try the mini-version) and cheese scones (buttered on request). Easy walk from the main street, if you don't have a car, but remember bakery hours (about 6am-4pm).

The menu includes few things that are Dutch (I was hoping it would have more since I am half Dutch and love Dutch baked goods), but what we did order was excellent. Well worth a stop for something to take on a picnic or eat on the go.
