we popped in here on the way back to our hotel - we decided we wanted a cake to follow our fish and chips we had just bought. We where spoilt for choice. In the end we picked up 1 cinnammon swirl and a biscuit based cake - not sure what it was called but it was scrumptious. Well done... More

Nothing to dislike. Despite the queues we encountered service was prompt and helpful with a great choice of pies, sandwiches and pastries.

Want a sticky bun or a scrumptious meat pie or a crusty loaf of bread or...or...or...because there are plenty of 'ors' to choose from. Just don't take too long choosing or the queue out the door will get restless in Pictonsoup hot, summer sun...or brisk frosty morning. Bakkerij or bakery...you can guarantee finding something to delight you.

Food always tastes amazing and customer service is brilliant, when you go in say "hi" to Missy and the team.

My husband stumbled over this. He ranted and raved about how much was to choose from and he was right and they were yummy. My only complaint it was out of the way of the main street and if you didn't know it was there you might not find it.

As a Dutchie I know what a real ''bakkerij'' should look like and the Picton bakkerij is doing a great job of recreating the real Dutch bakery vibe and taste! :) Can't believe I got to eat ''oliebollen'' on New Year's Eve, in New Zealand! Awesome!

bacon'egg biscuit not to my liking, greasy; lemon donut-OK. maybe other food is better, but the amount of grease on the biscuit was disturbing and made it very hard to eat.

We only tried some of the pastries and thoroughly enjoyed them with a cup of tea back in our motel room. We would have gone back for more the next day, but unfortunately the bakery was closed on Sunday. There was a large selection to choose from and we would have liked to try some of the other pastries....
