whether you want sweet or savoury, pies or bread, and a lot more, for a small town this bakkerij is brill. fresh, busy (lucky if you can get your choice if not in time!) and the curry mince pies are just yum.

We were back again this year, having been here in 2013. This may be "only" a bakery but it is offering simply the best food in Picton. The range of pies and cakes is superb. It knocks all of the other (overpriced) Picton eateries into the proverbial cocked hat.

An amazing variety of fresh bakery goods, pies, sausage rolls, sweets, cakes, breads, donuts anything a diabetic can only dream of eating before they go into a comma. Absolutely recommend to anyone passing through to get some nice baked goods in here. Beware the bakery is closed all day Sunday and all day long on Mondays.

We stopped by as we headed to the Queen Charlotte Track. We picked up breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, we got a variety of savory treats and coffees to take away. All were fresh and delicious. For lunch, we picked up sandwiches which were also delicious. This little bakery is a gem. It's conveniently located and stocked with a wide... More

The Village Bakkerij has started making some truly delicious sourdough bread! It really reminds me of San Francisco...quite special. You may have to phone in to reserve a loaf, as it seems to have become extremely popular!

Stopped here to pick up some things to eat waiting for the ferry going to wellington. It was a great idea as the sweet things were delicious. Prices slightly higher than a suburban bakery, but better value because of the quality. Will stop here again if in picton.

There is always a range of tasty fresh attractively presented products available at good prices. It is up to or better than similar places in big cities. (:
