They don't have a wine list, enough said. Basically a sad country pub. Very dated decor. Alcohol selection is lacking, food is standard pub grub. Very under utilised location on the marina, it could be great. Can't really rate the food as we only stayed for one drink then left.

Had a meal at the Jolly Roger after spending the day out on a boat in the sound. The seafood chowder I had as a starter was decent and the steak burger was too. Nothing really stood out as amazing though. Friendly staff, typical food. A pleasant enough experience, but nothing to knock your socks off.

We thought we would try this pub because of the nice location but ended up being disappointed. We ordered our food and had to wait an hour and a half for burgers. The food was only average and not worth the wait. The pub had a few drinkers but not many people appeared to be ordering food. Also have to... More

popped in for a beer and lunch - was pleasantly surprised that there is a nice setting and the food quality has much improved.

We visited deliberately while the All Blacks were playing rugby and the pub was well set up for that with several TVs giving good sight lines. The place was packed with a great atmosphere but despite this we found the service to be fast and attentive. We ordered the blue cod, the flintstone and the ribeye steaks all of which... More

A large group of motorbikers called in and arrived at the same time as another group. Ordered our meals and despite the crowds, meals were fairly quickly delivered. the one negative is using young untrained staff. May cost the business less in wages, but you lose out in service quality.

Been here twice and twice I ordered the same dish as I really enjoyed it. Beautiful nice fried tender chicken crisps with two choices of dipping sauces. A sweet and sour or a mango one. Chips were crunchy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. Nice sports atmosphere (there was a rugby game going on while we... More

Have now had the 3rd disappointing experience at this establishment, and will not be back. Not prepared to wait so long..for such yukky overpriced food, and a barman who would rather watch sport on TV than serve customers. The Spinnaker Restaurant upstairs is awesome, and well worth the few extra dollars.
