James the manager told us that he was sick of stupid customers asking about the lack of imported beers and that nobody ate Haggis! I wonder how all the UK food importers manage??? Maybe it's time to change the name of the pub - James??

Enjoyed a nice wee visit to this pub. Met some interesting locals. Just missed the late lunch by 5 minutes and no dinner service, as the kitchen was closing @ 4 p.m. Would have loved some lamb!! No Haggis either!!

Nice staff, good quick pub food, no complaints from us. Price was good as well. Hand cut fries really good, Burgers substantial, roast of the day looked great and nice gravy.

cold summer day in Picton, the flying haggis looked warm. Ordered the cheeseburger and fries and fush&chips with garlic aioli. Fast service and meals were filling and tasty! Best fish n chips I've had over in NZ :)

We ate at the Flying Haggis as we couldn't find any other place that was to our liking on that particular day. The place had a rather limited menu (to be expected as it's actually a pub), with the meals set out on a board in front. The hamburger I ordered was excellent.

We had a meal at the pub on a Monday night - small selection of meals on the blackboard but the cheeseburger was very tasty and my husband's roast lamb was just as good. Good selection of wines and nice friendly bar staff.

As locals, we've tried most of Picton's bars but the Haggis is by far our favourite - right in the middle of the high street, good value food and drinks, a fantastic manager and staff and always a great atmosphere. Reading previous reviews, whether it's Scottish enough is irrelevant (and I'm from the UK!). Try it first!

This pleasant little hotel provided a good value plain meal with the Scottish theme something different. Some of the language was a bit over the top as the evening wore on, but you sometimes get that in a pub.

Service and beer were good, but food again, is just very basic Pub food, why it is called a scottish ale house, who knows, because ther was no scottish food.
