This restaurant is in the heart of Akaroa and serves tremendous meals. We took our hosts from the Chateau Mont Clair B&B and were delighted with our hosts choice of restaurant. A wide variety of selections and a great wine list. We were on a cruise when we stayed in Akaroa.

Made a reservation this afternoon without trouble. Wait staff were extremely friendly, gluten free menu provided which was helpful. Complementary bread also given (non-GF) for entree and delicious GF bread provided with my meal. Seafood was delicious as was the flaming creme brulee dessert. Beautiful furnished restaurant however was a little cold despite sitting right beside the portable heater. Otherwise... More

I went for dinner with my wife during our New Zealand's holydays. The restaurant is very nice and with a warm atmosphere and the waiting staff is very friendly and professional. My wife had a salmon tasting plate which was outstanding with 5 different types of salmon, bread and dips, I had an amazing carpaccio with Jerusalem artichokes and truffle... More

As a regular visitor to Akaroa this is the pick of places to dine at for me. Great people who, if you attend regularly, remember you and know what your coffee needs are. Whether it is just for coffee and a muffin, lunch or dinner the service, quality of food and value for money are really up there. I would... More

We were visiting out of season and the town is really quiet, we were only one of two tables in the restaurant. The food, unfortunately was just ok. It lacked flavour or seasoning and the pasta was really oily. It was quite cold inside which was a shame as it looked lovely. I bet it's totally different in the warmer... More

We had an amazing meal on a busy Saturday night. The service was attentive and helpful. Recommendations were made and all questions were answered with ease and the staff definitely knew their stuff. We started with homemade olive foccacia - delicious, straight from the oven and melted in the mouth. For entree we had the Beef carpaccio and the Terrine.... More

1st time at the Trading room for dinner and will be back. The food had well balanced flavour respecting the basics of cooking, i would say the most mediterranean cuisine in Akaroa so far. The waiting staff was attentive too, a bit of wait between the main and the dessert, well, seeing the size of the dessert that wasn't a... More

lovely warm environment and great food. Between us we had the beef pie, the seafood pasta special and the club sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed it all. Highly recommended.
