Excellent

We had a fabulous meal here last night. We had the oysters to start followed by Duck for me and lamb for my husband. This is the best meal we have had over the last 2 weeks, really original flavours and great pressntation. Recommended!

The wait staff were very helpful seating us, but less attentive as we waited for 25 minutes without water, wine, info about specials, or acknowledgement we were there. The basic ingredients of each dish was excellent, but a lot of the bits and pieces were unnecessary. The beautiful cured salmon had a small pile of rye - why? Similarly, a... More

This has become our favourite restaurant and a must to visit when we are in Akaroa. The food is fresh and well presented and flavoursome. A good wine list, with a variety of New Zealand wines and others is also good to find. I had the duck this visit and once again very happy with my choice of main meal.... More

Had coffee there a couple of times; lovely waitresses and good coffee, though on the expensive side.

Olde Worlde charm abounds at this lovely cafe/restaurant on the front in Akoroa. We popped in for a coffee, coming off our cruise ship, then went back for lunch a couple of hours later. We were not disappointed. Very friendly proprietors and staff made us very welcome, and the food and drinks were very good with generous portions.

We requested one of the two tables in the window and it was THE most beautiful setting for dinner as the sun went down. The staff were so incredibly helpful when a group of smokers lit up in front of us, asking them to please put their cigarettes out. Its still legal to smoke in outdoor restaurants in NZ so... More

Stopped here for afternoon tea, an a very warm day having passed it a few times while walking the streets of Akaroa. Just had a coffee and hot chocolate, and sat outside in the breeze. Was pleasant enough watching the cruise ship passengers and buses coming and going. Grab an outside table if you can as its a great place... More

Lovely restaurant overlooking the bay. My wife and I had a midday meal here. I had the 1 Kg of mussels, while my wife had the fish and chips. The food was excellent, in fact there was a little too much, but still enjoyed it. My wife ordered her meal having been given a recommendation from a couple on the... More

Had a lovely night out ( not cheap but we ate and drank well). The restaurant has a French bistro feel with courteous and helpful front of house staff. We had a glass of sparkling to accompany our fresh oysters then a lovely bottle of New Zealand Pinot Gris with our entrees of scallops and pulled pork. All dishes were... More

Had an evening meal here and thouroughly enjoyed it. The atmoshere, service and the food itself were all first class. My entree of scollops had several elements that were divine and my husband loved the oysters three ways. We both had the duck for our mains and it was excellent. Didn't have dessert this time but if we are back... More
