The Trading Rooms at Akaroa

We walked in and we had not booked a table, over Easter weekend. The food was so good and we loved the presentation, I had Akaroa salmon and it was so delicious

We arrived on a day that saw the last of the cruise shs in town for the season and there was a sort of community party being held at night to say goodbye from the locals. We went to this restaurant on the advice of our accommodation manager but they did not have their usual menu and were just doing... More

We visited on cruise ship, had lunch, slight hiccup with order, but fixed quickly and well. Had a wonderful lunch. My wife had clams with pasta and I had the Angus Burger, couple of cool drinks and a delicious skinny Cappucino. Service first rate. View to die for and food was of a very good quality. First time my wife... More

Pleasant surrounding & spacious enough to feel romantic, even with a couple of bigger groups around us. We were given a chefs gift of salmon tasters while enjoying drinks before the meal arrived. We ordered scallops as a shared entree - they were delicious & perfectly cooked. Hubby ordered the lamb which was cooked to perfection & he enjoyed -... More

Terrible service. Loads of staff that fluff around not actually doing much. Had to wait 45 minutes before asking how much longer...then told if we hadn't ordered the pork belly it wouldn't of taken so long. When we said can you just bring out the others the reply was 'no sorry you'll have to wait!! inexperienced service and management. this... More

A nice restaurant close to the sea in Akaroa. Service excellent. Menu varied with some nice, unusual touches. They will also adapt dishes on request. Worth booking to get the time you want though, they get booked early.

Did not think you could get Fish and Chips wrong until we went here. Service was ok and location is fine.

The atmosphere at outside table was very nice but the food was disappointing. Came here for the lamb and it was not good at all--not flavorful or tender. Could not believe with New Zealand's great lamb that we would not get an exceptional serving of lamb.

I had lunch here after going on the Akaroa Harbour Nature Cruise that morning. As it was a nice sunny day, we decided to sit outside. Service was excellent here and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. We had the seafood chowder and fish and chips, which tasted great and of good quality. The ambience was also great, and sitting... More
