My partner and I heard this restaurant was the number one restaurant in Akaroa and going onto Trip Adviser here find it is and we are not surprised. We arrived and were welcomed by the owner who I had heard helped run Tiffanys fine dining Restaurant in Christchurch so my expectations were high. A small place but worked superb for... More

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast at this delightful "Little Bistro". With the French history of Akaroa, I wanted something French and delicious. They did not disappoint! Portions were huge and the food was fresh and delicious. I almost licked my plate! I had a wonderful French toast and hot chocolate with homemade marshmallows. My husband loved his... More

We ate twice at this restaurant and both times it was a great experience. Food, service, ambiance - all equally good.

We didn't just go once to this restaurant in our short visit to Akoroa but twice as the food ambience and service are really top notch. The menu is small but it would seem everything they make it good quality tasty and perfectly cooked and presented. I highly recommend this place.

We dined here on April 23 this year, not long after the new owner and chef had taken over and we were absolutely delighted with our choice. We both had the Seafood Chowder to start as it was a cool night, and we decided it was one of the very best chowders we have experienced. I followed with the fillet... More

The food was good-fine dining prices on par with christchurch without the finishing touches. When you receive one brussel sprout with your main as the only veg apart from mash we thought this was rather poor. The service was excellent and the waitresses coped very well in the confined space

The restaurant seats about 25 in an intimate surrounding. Tables are close, but the atmosphere is great. Table service was excellent - a young French woman worked really hard on her own all through service and was really engaging and efficient. Superb wine list. Bread and butter provided as an amuse bouche - a nice touch but why oh why... More

Excellent menu supplemented by daily specials. Had just changed hands when we ate but the two meals we had we very good. On the downside, it was disappointing to see staff smoking outside, and would recommend a table away from the toilet, as access is very tight.

We dined here 2 nights during a one week stay in Akaroa. The restaurant has just changed hands in April and the staff were outstanding , making this an intimate dining experience with excellent food. The menu reflects the chefs' desire to only use locally sourced ingredients. The servings are generous . The bistro is also open for coffee and... More
