Fantastic cuisine, great staff

Cheap night out, food was delicious. Highly recommended. We stumbled upon this restuarant while out exploring on a Saturday night. Glad we did, we had a great, tasty meal

Very authentic and tasty Indian in the heart of Freo. Really one of the best Indian meals I have had. Only disappointment is the lack of spice but you have to expect that in a restaurant.

I have mixed feelings on this one. The food is great no worries but it is a subtle taste of India. It is a little pricy but I still think worth going to.

Been meaning to go here for ages, now it wish I had eaten here before. The food is amazing, unusual dishes beautifully spiced. Arrived at the table promptly and hot. The eggplant pakoras were super crispy on the outside, but softly giving inside. Vegetable Poriyal was outstanding and as for the fish Qmin, a dish that I would come back... More

Visited this restaurant several years ago when on a previous visit to WA. Seem to remember it being more expensive than it is now and perhaps a little more up market. Couldn't fault the food which was tasty and hot, or the service which was friendly and attentive. Maybe would have preferred linen table cloths and napkins instead of paper,... More

Recent visit to perennial local Indian favourite restaurant Maya was the best yet. During their Divali Festival, a special menu of their local specialities from Delhi was surprising and delicious, with many previously unseen dishes tasted. Your host Gurps is charming, knowledgeable and most accommodating. The restaurant is always spotless, linens on tables, and good wine list rounding out a... More

Having being invited to dine at Maya's by good friends we got a pleasant surprise. The samosa starters were a bit expensive at $10 for two, but they were delicious nevertheless. I was surprised that it was served with a squirt of common out of the bottle Heinz tomato sauce - surely they could do better with a chutney or... More

Wanted to take my mum for Indian for her birthday dinner. I read loads of great reviews on this place from many different websites so I thought we would give it a try. Quaint little restaurant. Prompt service to our table. Started with a lovely and experienced female waitress, who was very knowledgeable and helpful. We did have one waiter... More

We have walked past the Maya many times and it is often packed and very popular. We had heard that it is a bit expensive but that probably isn't the case given the style and service. The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive. We had a lovely backpacker from Liverpool and she did a great job as did the other... More

I have been a regular patron of the May for years but the last takeaway I bought last weekend fell below the usual standards. In particular, portions were smaller and the tandoori chicken appeared not to have been close to a tandoor. My family felt the same way. Is there a new chef, is cost-cutting taking place...? Fremantle has few... More
