Went for breakfast this morning. Number 1 gripe - the restaurant is extremely NOISY. Number 2 gripe - the service was very lousy. Number 3 gripe - the bread was just revolting - 4 seeds - it was white and a few specks of seeds - nothing you would imagine a seedy bread to be like. 4. Parking is difficult.... More

Had a reasonable breakfast. Nothing overly special, but it was nice enough. Would happily go back here but wouldn't rush back.

Large well-made wooden chairs were surprisingly comfortable and three hours with friends passed by nicely. The atmosphere was calm, relaxed and pleasant all round. Service matched the ambience being appropriately friendly and food was presented in a timely manner and 'together'. My fellow diners all seemed happy enough - the beef pie looked particularly appetizing. My lamb shanks were not... More

This restaurant is in a lovely little street in East Fremantle. Interesting menu for adults and kids. Had delicious ginger chicken, husband had very good Thai green curry and children enjoyed crumbled chicken. Big choice of desserts, loved the banana cake with lemon icing and kids made short work of choc cake lollies. Good wine, coffee and polite and unobtrusive service.... More

I went for dinner on a Friday night, the atmosphere and music were good! The food was 10/10. We shared the scallops which were cooked perfectly. For mains we had the fillet and the rack of lamb. I could not fault anything. The waitress was on the ball. The only regret was that we were too full for dessert.

The George Street Bistrot recently changed hands and seemed worthy of a try. Very disappointing and certainly falls into the "don't bother" category. Very indifferent service, main course of fish curry contained very little fish, and the lamb dish was tough, stringy and fatty. Short serves of wine by the glass. Maybe it was a bad night in the kitchen,... More

Sorry you felt this way about our restaurant. We did have a waitress in training who did short pour your wine, if I had known I would have remedied the situation immediately. We unfortunately don't have "fish curry" on our menu and never have. I believe you either had a prawn curry that had 8 king prawns in it or... More

We had tried a number of times to book a table and got lucky last Saturday. We were welcomed and seated right at the front of the restaurant looking out to the road, George street is lovely so this was fine, and lucky as there was a large group in another area and this kept us away from the noise.... The food was great modern western cuisine very well executed in this casual dining venue. The home made bread could not be recommended.

There's nothing exactly wrong with George St Bistro, food was excellent, service was fine- not great, but nothing to complain about - room wasn't crowded though a little noisy, but I can not honestly say it gives value for money. At the prices it charges, one would have expected linen tablecloths perhaps.....Scallops with pancetta for entree, well presented, absolutely delicious,... More
