Simple Portuguese restaurant

This place is great. When you pay 17.65€ for two people (half litre of wine, water, two plates of the day at 6€ each, plus a dessert to share), you can't complain about much! This was a nice find for us, and we took it as good sign the fact that it was mostly filled with local portuguese people at the time we went. Although the service was friendly and the food nice, the place was very cold. They should do something about this problem, because it would really enhance the experience.

The food was excellent and the fish was cooked perfectly and suited all of us. The house wine was good and the service was up to expectations. The only down side was how cold it was inside the restaurant as a section of glass wall in the entrance hall does not reach to the ceiling allowing cold air to come... More

We ate lunch, with one dish of the day at €6 consisting of lightly battered plaice, fries, salad and rice, and another of two sea bass with potatoes and salad for €10. The sea bass was as good as it gets according to my companion and my plaice was delicious. The waiter was friendly, helpful, and importantly, found our lame... More

This restaurant seems to be a firm favourite with locals and tourists in season. We visited recently and had an excellent meal (baby squid), the meal was just simply cooked good ingredients served with a smile. The atmosphere on a chilly damp evening was also great as the place was full. The whole meal, couvert, mains, pudding, wine and coffee... More

If you want to try local food in Tavira is very good option. Be aware the the porsions are quite big and in Portugal is better to order half portion :) The waiter and atmosphere was nice. The food is really not expensive here. The day specials was also nice.

Local and very good priced food. Not superb good taste but meet our expectation. People are very friendly. The home made pudding was too sweet however I can taste the home made goodness.

Staff were honest about portions and stopped us over ordering, overall v friendly. We had sea bass and pork ribs both of which were excellent. By far the best food in Tavira at amazing prices.

A standard Portuguese restaurant serving standard Portuguese food, but of good quality. If you go for the "Prata de Dia" (Dish of the Day) you get very good value for six euros. Usually the same food is served on the same day of the week. We like Thursdays as they serve "Javali" (Wild Boar Stew) which is always extremely tender,... More
