This restaurant seems to be a firm favourite with locals and tourists in season. We visited recently and had an excellent meal (baby squid), the meal was just simply cooked good ingredients served with a smile. The atmosphere on a chilly damp evening was also great as the place was full. The whole meal, couvert, mains, pudding, wine and coffee... More

If you want to try local food in Tavira is very good option. Be aware the the porsions are quite big and in Portugal is better to order half portion :) The waiter and atmosphere was nice. The food is really not expensive here. The day specials was also nice.

Local and very good priced food. Not superb good taste but meet our expectation. People are very friendly. The home made pudding was too sweet however I can taste the home made goodness.

Staff were honest about portions and stopped us over ordering, overall v friendly. We had sea bass and pork ribs both of which were excellent. By far the best food in Tavira at amazing prices.

A standard Portuguese restaurant serving standard Portuguese food, but of good quality. If you go for the "Prata de Dia" (Dish of the Day) you get very good value for six euros. Usually the same food is served on the same day of the week. We like Thursdays as they serve "Javali" (Wild Boar Stew) which is always extremely tender,... More

Having recently found this restaurant, now go there twice a week! Great choice of food with daily specials, good wine and very friendly staff. Gets busy with the locals but everything is no trouble to the brothers. A must try to anyone visiting Tavira area.

In spite of it being a very busy Saturday night, the waiter took so much care with my visually impaired husband, and had made sure that his fish was completely free of bones. Delicious horse mackerel, delicious homemade puds, and completely authentic Portuguese cooking, this will be a favourite any time we visit Tavira, and the prices are a refreshing... More

This restaurant is family run and is used a lot by locals. The first night we visited there were tables set out for family occasions. It is indoor only, a bit canteenish, but is very busy and the staff seem to know all the customers. My wife had swordfish and gave it 10/10. She has been waiting for years to... More

This is our 5th visit to Portugal and probably our 10th to Simao. Friendly staff, delicious specials, everything else well priced and well cooked. We keep thinking we should try harder to eat elsewhere... but why, when the food is so good? And no, the decor doesn't dazzle but when you're focused on the food... who cares?
