Very Good.

Just posted a review on caserau snack bar by mistake. Please see this. This place is great.located just down from the Venezuela bakery. All fish, Meats, shell fish and vegetables are fresh and local. Cooked simply but very, very well. Try the prawns to share as a starter. Wild boar stew is great... read more

We ate here 2 nights for dinner and loved everything about it. The service was great. Our waiter spoke good english and explained everything to us and arranged the order of the dishes perfectly. The second night he suggested cuttelfish and clams cooked in garlic and olive oil. Both were amazing! The rabbit stew was also cooked perfectly and tender.... More

A typical Portuguese eatery. Good food with good prices and non of the fancy fripparies. Friday is Lamb shank day but you would be well advised to call in or telephone at Lunch time and reserve this dish if you want to be certain of getting it.

Visited Xico's several times whilst in Tavira for 2 weeks and each time was impressed by the quality dishes on offer at extremely low prices. A family run restaurant and everyone seems to know exactly what they are doing. The fish was superb and the service first class. Towards the end of our holiday we asked Eduardo if we could... More

I've been coming to O Casarão for decades, and it keeps on being one of the best value for money in Tavira. It's a pity that now they have mostly aquaculture fish, yet that's the consequence of us ruining our beautiful blue planet. Good game (some dishes you need to reserve ahead) and wine, a classic in Tavira!

The fish is superior really lovely meal, with a really nice Vinho Tinto from the Alentejo region. A nice ambience, mixed with a Portuguese & tourist clientele, well worth a visit.

A pleasant if basic restaurant. A simple menu but beautifully cooked. Excellent value for money. We went a few times during our stay and would highly recommend it.

This is the best restaurant in Tavira both on quality of food and price. It's packed most lunch times and evenings with both locals and visitors so best to book. We have been back many times and without fail can recommend it to you.

Not the fanciest restaurant but the food was very good and the owner very friendly and helpful. I didn't realise it was cash only but he was happy for me to order and eat and then nip out to a cash machine at the end to sort the bill. That made me feel immediately at ease and thought - wow... Definitively my favourite restaurant in Tavira city. Simple, inexpensive and unpretentious. Most of the times we have grilled fish but meat dishes are also quite good. From time to time they prepare special dishes - stews with special types of meat such as "carne de caça" - and I go for that. Xico is an old friend and his son... More
