Very good for steaks

Despite music, decor and silly wine / food menus, the service, food and 'house red' were good enough to make me ignore these potential distractions. The place to go if you like steak.

None of the restaurants in Tavira will do severe damage to your wallet but, following recent price hikes, La Taska does it's best. It's still reasonable by UK standards but now very expensive if judged by the local competition. The drinks prices are particularly high. On a more positive note, the food is still good with several very nice presentation... More

Great little restaurant only has seating for 18, even though they weren't full the asked us to come back in 20minutes because the kitchen was busy and they didn't want us sitting waiting too long, great service from the friendly staff they were very helpful, food is good, goats cheese and honey starter was superb!

A favourite whenever we visit Tavira. Small so book, but intimate and friendly with great service and the best steaks. The shape of the restaurant - long & narrow is more difficult for large groups, unless you can take over the restaurant

Did my research on tripadvisor before heading out for dinner! So glad we did! What a fantastic place! Tucked up a side street just up from the Roman bridge, it really isn't easy to find. Really small with quirky decor, but very nice, bright and clean. As others have said, they only do 18 covers. Menu is not particularly long... More

Don't think this is a mega bustling dining room. 18 covers, so if your going in high season, book. (closed Tuesdays.) The menu arrives in a little hard back book. It is a meat restaurant so don't look for fish it seems limited but that's the attraction. Choose your meat and your sauce and your on your way. There is... More

Amazing and cozy atmosphere. Only 18 seats, but so nice decorated and clean. Nice staff, it's a family business. We had the meat grilled on stones at our table by ourselves. Simple side dishes but so tasty. My highest recommendation after 3 days in Tavira!!! Go and try it out!

Small restaurant with intimate feel. Nice welcome and good if relatively limited meat oriented menu. We chose to cook ours on the hot stone. Good quality meat, accompaniments a little lacking. Slightly more expensive than others in the area.

Lovely meet and chicken dishes with home made sauces. Not easy to find in Portugal, where many restaurants serve grilled fish, potatoes, veggies and a slice of lemon. Try this restaurant out!!!

A Taska was an excellent find and a complete surprise. The steak was among the best we ever had, served with plenty of real french fries (not the frozen ones) and some fresh steamed vegetables. The house wine is great, and for a restaurant of this quality, the price was surprisingly cheap! Will certainly come back.
