One for the Must Do List

Whilst many of Tavira's higher end restaurants turn out to be disappointing tourist traps the Brisa do Rio actually punches above it's weight. The recent move to new premises has doubled the number of tables available but they can still be difficult to come by, especially at weekends. Kind of... read more

Everybody raved about this restaurant "not to be missed" etc etc. I found it rather pretentious. The food was tasty and well presented but the waiters seemed rushed off their feet and were too busy to be attentive. I had much better experiences elsewhere in Tavira

The new restaurant is now open, evenings only until the roadworks are finished. The food and ambience are as wonderful as ever but the new location is going to be wonderful as it has a huge amount of space inside and a very spacious rooftop terrace overlooking the river.Hats off to management as they have not taken the usual opportunity... We visit this restsurant everytime we are in Tavira and it never fails to impress. The new premises are great and although we will miss the atmosphere of the little lane we are looking forward to the new roof eating space and view of the river. To recommend a particular meal would be unfair to the other excellent selections although... More

I visited this restaurant as part of a group of 10. We were seated in the private room. The rest of the place was packed - a good sign ! The service was very good and the food, a little different from the usual Portuguese fare. Starting with local clams, I then had sea bass fillets in orange jus. Served... More

We have eaten in Brisa many times but our 1st visit to the new place in February and fully lived up to our expectations, Premises indoors are roomy with the same great service provided by Louis and Octavia delivering tasty food from the kitchen. Cant wait to return and try the big roof terrace, Easily best place in Tavira, just... More

This restaurant has a "pirate" feature at the moment, due to road works you have to "walk the plank" to gain entrance! It's worth the effort and I'm assured the work is nearly finished. Very busy place with helpful, knowledgeable staff. The cover was very fairly priced and a" seafood pate" included in it was gorgeous, as was the "cauliflower... More
