We had a very nice meal here - the best in Tavira. I had sardines that were fresh - the skin crunchy and salty and the flesh tender. Lots of salad, freshly cooked potatoes (unlike the ones in my other review in Tavira), attentive service. I would absolutely recommend it. Its not fussy, but they... read more

On a dull Sunday in March (Easter Sunday) our family group of 7 checked out several restaurants and in the end we opted for one down a pedestrianised street on the other side of the river. It was called ‘Rest Abstracto’. We could not sit inside as the small restaurant could not accommodate our group, so we sat outside. The... More

We had a good meal here recently. It was a more traditional menu than it used to be when we went there a lot- years ago. Nonetheless, it was enjoyable and the new owner and his staff were efficient and welcoming. Its worth a visit.

Short and simple, as above, the food was fantastic and the premises were quaint, charming and comfortable. The staff were also helpful and friendly and the location too was good! Make this part of your stay!

I should have known better really....... The more upmarket restaurants in Tavira tend to disappoint and this was no exception. Still, I fancied sole and sole was on the menu and the decor looked fine so in I went. The sole whilst cooked well was the smallest that I have ever eaten. I thought that they threw these back! Very busy -we sat outside in the street. Very friendly service- slow as normally expected in Portugal which should not be considered a problem. The meals were excellent and chef came out to personally check on every table and bought everyone a drink.

Ate dinner here on a Monday evening and the external tables were busy and inside got full as well. It seemed there was only one man serving and although he did his very best service was necessarily slow. We had grilled chicken and one of the specials, grilled lamb chops. The food was fine - good portions and a good... More

This restaurant fills up fast because it is one of the better ones in Tavira. It was recommended by our hotel (Tavira House) and the manager wasn't exaggerating. Fresh seafood, good specials and good service.

Our first visit to this restaurant was well received by our guests but my wife and I were not that impressed. On our second visit our first impression was confirmed. We both ordered fish, my wife tuna and codfish for me. We should have asked how our fish was to be cooked as when our meals arrived they both where... More

Went here for dinner on Saturday evening with my wife. The service was quick, polite and easy going. We went for specials, very good value and great portion. The environment was, like any other restaurant around that area really. Would gladly recommend.
