Disappointing

Best seating above Tavira, next to the old fortress and church. Very good kitchen and also inside the restaurant a good atmosphere. But... outside dining (or lunching) is the thing to do!

Really lovely setting, next to the castle and attentive staff - but as for the food there were actually 2 vegetarian mains on the menu which is a nice surprise for a 'white tablecloth' type of restaurant. But the risotto wasn't great and lacked any finesse. I was really looking forward to the dessert as it was a chocolate fondant... More

Booked a table for our second visit for a special occasion. The restaurant was empty and we had our choice of tables. Sat inside because it was raining but outlook still nice. All the food was good and nicely presented, proper tablecloths napkins etc. Couvert Duck monkfish steaks , ice cream beers sparkling water wine lots. 4 people about 130€... More

We came out of the Castle the back way into a pretty square, shaded by lime trees and goodness me, before us was a tempting and delightful collection of tables and chairs belonging to a restaurant. I said to my husband "how delightful, I shall just have to sit at one of those tables for refreshments". We sat down, but... More

lovely terrace and nicely decorated restaurant - quite classy. unfortunately the food was ok for some of our party, but not for others. some of us left our food but there was no comment from the staff - and the service is slow. there is no charm from the staff and there weren't many diners - not a good sign. wine... Just finished our meal at A Ver Tavira, husband says it's the best we've had this trip. He started with vegetable soup, hot and delicious. Mains were rack of lamb-cooked to perfection and sea bass, which came with 2 large prawns, asparagus and strawberries- melt in the mouth food. Deserts were orange cake with ice cream and honeyed nuts, quite delicious and... More

This restaurant is known for its good food. We have been twice and each time the service is very poor. We have to wait for the first drinks, wait for the menus, the meal.takes ages to arrive. The are expensive and one expects much better service. The meal descriptions are poor, we had to intere gate the poor waiter to... More

With a breathtaking view this restaurant was one of the highlights of our stay in the Algarve, great food and surrounding at a fair price.
