Ask for the Bacalhau à Encanada

This restaurant is located at the local market with excellent facilities (reccomend an outdoor table to enjoy the view). From the starters to the main course, everything had codfish, and very well cooked with superior quality. Service is not 5*, but it is what it is, but everything worked out. Bit... read more

Unfriendly welcoming, disinterested staff, terrible tepid food, fatty inedible T-Bone, reheated & tasteless lamb. We had 4 waitresses over the evening who were as bad as each other. Waited 20 min to get my bill....

We were part of a tour that stopped in Ponte de lima and had the local dish sarrabulho. We had already learned to order for one and share. This was enormous. Lots of meat, plus rice which had meat in it. All well cooked pork, sausage, black pudding and roast potatoes. The view was not great as the local fair... More

This was an extraordinary experience. This restaurant is amazing, the service is great and the food is excellent. It is definitely good value - which doesn't mean inexpensive. But it's definitely worth every cent.

Compared with some of the other meals we had in Pte de Lima, this was a little sub-par. Nothing specifically wrong but just not as impressive as other places. A good fallback and certainly worth trying as their outdoor seating view of the river and the bridge is pretty great.

The service was friendly and the food was amazing. I had the house specialty, Sarrabulho (stew pork and rice cooked in pig's blood), and loved every bite of it. The outside seating overlooked the river and an old Roman bridge. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.

We had lunch here with a friend from Porto, who we trusted to do all of the ordering. His choices were excellent. For starters, we tried bolos de bacalhau, rissois, a "mock" crabmeat spread, cheese of the region, mushrooms, and caldo verde. The main dish was sarrabulho, a variety of meats cooked in pig's blood. The vinho verde of the... More
