Very sweet servers. Elegant menu. Some of our part's food was under cooked, some was underwhelming in terms of seasoning. We were there for lunch but ordered main entrees so perhaps the regular chef was not there that early but we were disappointed. The adjacent Saturday market and the lady who operates the traditional merrigoround made our trip to the... More

Ate here last week, had the veal carpaccio to start, very delicate, followed by the veal cheeks, melted in your mouth. Pudding excellent white chocolate cheesecake. All accompanied by a decent Pinot noir, good selection of wines, no list but you can go and look at them on display and take a taster. Food in this region can sometimes be... More

The restaurant was selling ready prepared rice with beef but we ordered off the menu. I had salmon on spinach with Nasturtium and strawberry and my partner had veal burger and fries. The food was tasty but the best part of the meal was the fresh juice. The waitress was sweet. The bill came to 35 euro

The Maja is certainly a pretty restaurant in an area of Riga a little off the beaten track. We went there for a special meal as it is certainly more expensive than many good restaurants in Riga. We were hugely disappointed. Be very careful that you get what you order. My dish had none of the items which were supposed... More

We went to see the famous wooden houses, but it was difficult to see them, because there was a market between the houses. It was a very hot day, so we sat down to have something to drink. The beer was good. We sat outside, and I only went inside to use the lavatory. The inside looked very nice.

….goodness me! Champagne was not cold, and they have not ice for the bucker! Furthermore, no wine list, and no compliment of the house to start. Besides, once the menu specified the origin of the foods. On the other hand, the location is charming, the dining rooms are elegant and comfortable, the service is courteous and professional, and the food... More

This restaurant is well worth a visit. As well as the interesting neighbourhood, full of traditional wooden houses, the place itself is beautifully restored with old photographs of former inhabitants decorating the walls. The interior is both stylish and relaxed and the food is excellent. Try the dailu lunch specials for a very reasonable price.

First time I was in Māja year ago when outside was snowing - it was very warm, cozy. I really loved the place. At that time we came to get warm with some coffee and Pasta for me and my friend in sunday launch time, and chief surprised us - we got carrot bread with beetroot butter, pesto and compliment... This restaurant is very cute. It is in an old wooden house that has been restored. It's a bit outside the touristy part of Riga but you can take a bus there easily. Staff is friendly. The food is AMAZING! They pair flavors together so well! They were doing a little bit of construction outside while I was there so... More
