Steak is our passion, and we know what that entails. Our guests may see what we can do with our skillful hands, but actually, it all starts long before that: with select beef suppliers and perfectly timed aging - the two conditions that must be met to attain results worthy of the highest compliments on tenderness and juiciness. This is why we only employ suppliers that know where to get the best beef raised in Argentina, the USA, Scandinavia and Southern Europe. They say that if you want to make a good steak, you first have to make friends with a good butcher. We've gone one step further - by creating our own meat workshop - your guarantee of finding unwaveringly high quality cuts and marinades in all three Steiku Haoss restaurants. With steak, it's important to not complicate things. Which is why on our menu, we stick to the classics, and refrain from using exotic sauces and marinades that may mask the true flavor of the meat. Of the 17 different steak dishes listed on our menu, any one could stand alone as a featured item - whether it be the naturally strong-flavoured Argentinian bife de chorizo, our beef loin matured in olive oil, or the lean, yet succulent, fillet mignon. We offer a wide variety of takes on the basics, such as shank of lamb in mint, venison tenderloin, pork ribs and salmon steaks - all prepared on the grill. Next year will mark our ten-year anniversary, a period in which Steiku Haoss - Riga's trailblazer in the aesthetics and cuisine of the Wild West - has expanded into three restaurants. During these years, our chefs have interned at Copenhagen's Noma (rated as the world's best restaurant for three years in a row), bringing new dimensions to Steiku Haoss: the appetizers, soups, salads and condiments have become more refined, the desserts - ever more enticing, and the wine list - decidedly selective.

Friendly staff food average

We ate here after work on business. We were a little early and only people there, pity I imagine when full the atmosphere would be much better. We all had steaks but I would rush back, it was ok but nothing special.

They have a good quality Meat well prepared but the prices are ridiculous offering german Schneider Riesling as an aperitiv at a 9 Euro/per Glass price tag (that's the per bottle price) good meat but really really expensive... and a bad service... Other restaurants in the neighborhood are much better (Niklavs, Easy Wine, Fat Pumkin)...

It is nice to know that you appreciate a good steak. By the way, we purchase meat from local farms. However, you have maybe mixed up the restaurant for this review, because we really do not serve this wine. The only German Riesling that we offer is Loosen Dr L Riesling from Mosel and it costs 7.10 euros per glass.... More

Ok steakes, but in generall the food was not much to celebrate over. Service was not that good, after filling our glasses they took our bottle back and didn't follow up when we got empty so we had to find our wine bottle.

This was shockingly bad. Small steaks, a burned burger, high price and majo and ketchup are charged extra. There are lots of excellent restaurants in Riga, thus one is the worst we have been.

Me and my partner both ordered medium - rare filet steaks and a potato with sour cream and cheese and some mushrooms. The steak was cooked perfectly for our tastes (however, I would consider this rare). Our waitress was very attentive and our orders were brought out very quickly. One of my aquaintances had been in Riga a few weeks before and highly recommended Steiku Haoss and since he is a kichen chef himself, this was the place for me to eat. My friend and I celebrated a special day and we wanted a good steak. However, the server recommended a piece of Latvian deer, petite potatoes, a mushroom sauce, roasted vegetables, and a rich red Chilean wine. It was a superb dinner. The server was helpful and professional.

Medium quality, crazy prices!!! I suggest to visitors in Riga,to try local restaurants with local prices. For sure I willl never visit this place again. Too bad👎👎👎
