Description: Steak is our passion, and we know what that entails. Our guests may see...
Steak is our passion, and we know what that entails. Our guests may see what we can do with our skillful hands, but actually, it all starts long before that: with select beef suppliers and perfectly timed aging - the two conditions that must be met to attain results worthy of the highest compliments on tenderness and juiciness. This is why we only employ suppliers that know where to get the best beef raised in Argentina, the USA, Scandinavia and Southern Europe. They say that if you want to make a good steak, you first have to make friends with a good butcher. We've gone one step further - by creating our own meat workshop - your guarantee of finding unwaveringly high quality cuts and marinades in all three Steiku Haoss restaurants. With steak, it's important to not complicate things. Which is why on our menu, we stick to the classics, and refrain from using exotic sauces and marinades that may mask the true flavor of the meat. Of the 17 different steak dishes listed on our menu, any one could stand alone as a featured item - whether it be the naturally strong-flavoured Argentinian bife de chorizo, our beef loin matured in olive oil, or the lean, yet succulent, fillet mignon. We offer a wide variety of takes on the basics, such as shank of lamb in mint, venison tenderloin, pork ribs and salmon steaks - all prepared on the grill. Next year will mark our ten-year anniversary, a period in which Steiku Haoss - Riga's trailblazer in the aesthetics and cuisine of the Wild West - has expanded into three restaurants. During these years, our chefs have interned at Copenhagen's Noma (rated as the world's best restaurant for three years in a row), bringing new dimensions to Steiku Haoss: the appetizers, soups, salads and condiments have become more refined, the desserts - ever more enticing, and the wine list - decidedly selective.

Very good service and good non steak food

Though the waiting staff were dressed as Cowboys or girls they waited very well, including white gloves on when giving cutlery! Very good central location under an awning ( good as it poured hard at one point). Delicious goulash soup and then very tasty veggie risotto. Was asked if we wanted bread... read more

Thought to check it out with my friend, as in airbaltic airline it says "best steak in town". Warm welcoming with kind of a nice decor, maybe bit too much of the cow skins. Anyway, service was just like watching Comedy Central. First of all the waiter had no idea about the food he is serving, ordered a bottle of... More

Poor food, expensive, rude staff and if you walk through the restaurant to the toilets...you get the impression that it hasn't been cleaned in a long time. Best avoided and go across the road to Niklāvs in Hotel Radi un Draugi

Probably wouldn't return here as the food is mediocre and comes with a high price tag. Fish bouillabaisse advertised lobster but was in fact two very small cray fish tails. Main course steak was nothing to brag about but cous cous was nice. Creme brûlée was poor. Plenty of places to choose in Riga with better cooking for a fraction... More

Went by last evening at almost 9:30 so not many guests. Ordered one fillet mignon medium rare (served between blue and rare) and wife had the pork fillet. All side dishes and sauces are extra, so adds up to the final bill. 67 euro in total without any wine. Expensive for Riga and I believe better value can be found... More

The steak house was opposite my hotel, so I was determined to try it. The service was very good, the steak was ok, the house wine was too expensive for what it was. What disappointed me, was a 10% charge which the waiter could not properly explain. Overall, not a bad place, but a terrible value for money.

Had a really good meal and the service was excellent. I did not find the prices too bad, on a par with places back home that aren't as nice or at the same standard of food. I would definitely visit again.

The service very good. Smiling waitresses which is a luxury in Riga. The restaurant is really nice too, it has a certain charm. But this is the first time ever that i am really hungry after dinning! I ordered one of the most espensive meals in the menu, and what i got was two small pieces of lamb in a... More

Got seated well enough, ordering went relatively good and food was okay.. but we ordered double Coke and got single, and for our main course we ordered different sauces but just got one of them. Shrugged it off and had an average meal, maybe fairly priced compared with a country like switserland or norway..? but oh well, we're on vacation.... More
