Description: Steak is our passion, and we know what that entails. Our guests may see...
Steak is our passion, and we know what that entails. Our guests may see what we can do with our skillful hands, but actually, it all starts long before that: with select beef suppliers and perfectly timed aging - the two conditions that must be met to attain results worthy of the highest compliments on tenderness and juiciness. This is why we only employ suppliers that know where to get the best beef raised in Argentina, the USA, Scandinavia and Southern Europe. They say that if you want to make a good steak, you first have to make friends with a good butcher. We've gone one step further - by creating our own meat workshop - your guarantee of finding unwaveringly high quality cuts and marinades in all three Steiku Haoss restaurants. With steak, it's important to not complicate things. Which is why on our menu, we stick to the classics, and refrain from using exotic sauces and marinades that may mask the true flavor of the meat. Of the 17 different steak dishes listed on our menu, any one could stand alone as a featured item - whether it be the naturally strong-flavoured Argentinian bife de chorizo, our beef loin matured in olive oil, or the lean, yet succulent, fillet mignon. We offer a wide variety of takes on the basics, such as shank of lamb in mint, venison tenderloin, pork ribs and salmon steaks - all prepared on the grill. Next year will mark our ten-year anniversary, a period in which Steiku Haoss - Riga's trailblazer in the aesthetics and cuisine of the Wild West - has expanded into three restaurants. During these years, our chefs have interned at Copenhagen's Noma (rated as the world's best restaurant for three years in a row), bringing new dimensions to Steiku Haoss: the appetizers, soups, salads and condiments have become more refined, the desserts - ever more enticing, and the wine list - decidedly selective.

Feeling hungry after dinning

The service very good. Smiling waitresses which is a luxury in Riga. The restaurant is really nice too, it has a certain charm. But this is the first time ever that i am really hungry after dinning! I ordered one of the most espensive meals in the menu, and what i got was two small pieces of... read more

Got seated well enough, ordering went relatively good and food was okay.. but we ordered double Coke and got single, and for our main course we ordered different sauces but just got one of them. Shrugged it off and had an average meal, maybe fairly priced compared with a country like switserland or norway..? but oh well, we're on vacation.... More

I created my trip advisor acount because I felt so strongly about how terrible the service/experience is at this establishment. I have lived in Riga for over a year and have enjoyed dining out on a weekly basis across the city with a group of friends. We have also enjoyed the other two restaurants in this chain with the same... More

Nice place, nice dekoration, very polite waiters. Very expensive, i come from switzerland where everything is more expensive, but for latvia i think its expensive. The caesars salad was small and poor. The steaks were very good, but with no side dishes at all.

Very small portions, but I'm glad it was somewhat tasty. Very expensive compared to the other (and a lot better) restaurants. Felt a bit cheated afterwards.

We start with a coke from machine, like mcdonalds, frozen fries, the meat i asked for medium rare it was a shoe so hard. The chef has no clue about what is a Caesar's salad. The waiter sales you the french fries and the sauce for the dish outside of the price. Also you have to look for the service.... More

It felt like a "let's take all the money from the stupid tourists"-place. Beef was okey, but not worth 20,70€ (and for this price you didn't even get anything besiders like french fries or vegetables. For example fries would have been 4.9€ more). Also one Bottle of water was 6€! Also on top of everything service fee 10% was attached... More

At €30 my steak was overpriced, yes it was cooked correctly and tasted good but that's all you get. Sides and sauces were €4-7 each and the wine started at €25 for the cheap stuff. The service was ok but it looked like most would rather be elsewhere. All said the food and €35 wine went down a treat and... More

We Visited the Steiku Haoss On a Friday night with a party of around 7 people. The place was inviting and we were seated quickly upstairs, Its definately in the American style of decor! Anyway service was friendly and they had a live act on doing various classic American hits so we were quite pleased with the entertainment also... We... More

Mother and son visited you. Good atmosphere but dissappointing food, concidering the price. The cheapest alternative for two steakmeals are about 80 euros, drinks included. The steak was not medium rare like we ordered, it was more of a medium tipping towards well done. Would not recommend this to anyone, there are better restaurants with this price setting.

Thank you for your reference. Unfortunately, I have to admit that although our chefs are professional and are making perfect steaks in the majority of cases, everyone can make a mistake sometimes. I trust that the waiter that served you would have offered you new steaks to enable you enjoying it exactly at the degree you wanted. We recognise that... More
