Great atmosphere

What a wonderful place. We went to this restaurant as it was high on the trip advisor restaurant list. From outside it looks nothing much but inside it is great. Down in the cellar a hubble bubble of chat and live band playing. The food is good and very reasonable. We reserved a table and had a... read more

The place was packed, but we found a table within 10 minutes or so. What a wonderful place. Very cool. Food was great, staff was great and did their best considering how busy it was. Can't beat the price.

We went there without having booked a table, and there were no tables left in the room where a band was playing. However, they found us a place in a different room, less noisy, with a very cozy feel to it. Food was excellent and really good value! My friend tried the traditional Grey Peas, served in a loaf of... More

Very good and atomspheric restaurant. Being slightly away from the very centre prices are very reasonable. They have folk shows there - check first if interested. Warning - think what you want to order and then half it. Servings arfe huge

We went in (3 persons) asking for having diner. They chased us away with the excuse that the kitchen was closed, whereas locals were placing orders for food just next to us at the same moment. And plates were still carried out of the closed kitchen. All pigs are not that equal!!!

This pub/restaurant was recommended to me by a friend who is a native of Riga as a genuine Latvian place and I am glad we met there. It's deceptively huge (you enter through a narrow doorway on the street and descend into a vast underground network of rooms) and had a great atmosphere with locals and visitors. The food menu... If you could give 3,5 stars this would be it. There is a hint of awesomeness here but it is not totally there. First of all, place is cheap considering that it is in the old town. Cellar is nice, though it's very warm and even little bit suffocating there when it's full of people. Athmosphere is nice though, liked... More

Definitely recommend garlic bread and honey beer - especially to those out there who are not that big on beer (like me). Speaking of which, there seem to be a lot of complaints about the food not being healthy enough. I am sorry, did you expect them to serve tofu salad? Of course it's all about that cheese and bacon... You will over order. The food portions are amazing and impossible to finish. Great fun and atmosphere with music. Think beer hall with good food and very reasonable prices.
