Great place for an amazing price

Definitely the best meal we have had in Latvia. The prices are very very reasonable as well. Highly recommend the beer platter!

We had dinner there for 13 pax. Nice pub, lots of locals there, loud music. Beer was good, but fish for the main was not eatable at all. Meatballs were also not very good, too dry. I'd say this place is much more for drinking beer and listening to the music than for eating and communicating with friends.

Mostly students and young people, but as one of the oldest couple we felt welcome and got excellent service. Book table to assure place. Food was really good and generous. Noisy atmosphere.

When you enter the restaurant feeling is unreal, so many tables, rooms and people! Nice service, good food and drinks! Very cheap, nice to come with friends. Don't come to have a romantic intim dinner, restaurant is very noisy, as it should be :)

Very much enjoyed the food, the selection of beers and the atmosphere in this undergound pub. Locals seem to enjoy it as well! It is a pleasant change to the touristy restaurants in the old town.

It's the ultimate destination for Latvian folklore, cuisine, beer, music, dances, interior design and general feeling. I've gone there many times when I studied there and each time I come back I visit Ala as well. The food is always very good quality (just keep in mind they close the kitchen at 22) and loads of good beer (although a... More

The food and drinks was very good priced. Did a reservation after reading reviews here. Somewhat disappointed in the service - long waiting times. Came in early and there was not so many people there. Should not have been waiting for so long time. The food was excellent! Laaaaaarge portions! Good beer aswell :) Easier to find than I thought... We went on a Monday night, some people played live folk music, the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The food is amazing! I had the one of the most expensive choices, a giant pork rib for €9.30. For the two of us, a main course and three pints each came to just over €30. Really excellent value for money!

Friday evening. And we decided to come here for dinner, without a booking. We managed to get a table somehow, as the waitress was really helpful. The place is crowded, and therewith loud, filling up mainly with all kind of folks from 24 to 42 yo. At 9PM a band starts playing. And dinner? There is a good choice of... More
