The food was good, but my pearch pike fish tasted a little fishy. If you are a party of 8 the resaurant does not allow you to split up the bill, so be prepared to pay together. They were out of the bever stew that we wanted to try that evening.

We finally dined at this restaurant across from our hotel on our last night in Riga. Although it was crowded and our seating was not the best, the service was outstanding and attentive. The Latvian cuisine that we sampled was very well prepared and the waiter even offered my husband a shot of the owner's mother's special horseradish vodka (which...

Unfortunately we did not get a chance to eat this restaurant. Four of us came in for a dinner. It was early and the place was virtually empty. First thing we noticed that we were greeted by a very serious waiter without any hint of smile. With a stone like face we were offered to go upstairs. We asked fo...

During our 4 days tour to Riga, we had an excellent dinner at 1221. This beautiful building, with almost 800 years history, now houses 1221 - one of Riga's best restaurants in three floor! From the top terrace you can see the tower of the legendary Dome Cathedral and other historical places in the Old Riga. Restaurant 1221 chef puts...

The place is extremely good - the cuisine is tasty and delicious. To be honest, i think it is one of the best restaurants in Riga if we speak about the local cuisine. The service and overal quality of food was extremely high - has a great time there.
This restaurant has a great potential due to his location and charm of the old house in Riga. The food is also quite good but the service is really not good. The waitresses look at you just as you are an old pair of socks. They put you on the first available table not even asking your advice. Not classy...

I was impressed with the food at 1221 and recommend it for lunch or dinner.
To be honest, the meal started-out quite poorly. Service was a bit cold and the waitress was ill-informed about the menu. The goulash soup with elk meat, which sounded excellent on the menu, turned-out to be watered-down and flavorless.
Things turned for the better when...

The place - next to the dome - does not look like a special place to eat from the street. But when you enter you step into a very nice and interesting house; left in original state for the best part and only done up as much as necessary to meet nowadays standards. Good mix between cosy and discrete. Great...

We had a nice lunch there, after considering the place for a while. From outside the building looks nice, but most tables are upstairs in this small house with many small floors and nooks and corners. Service was very attentive and we enjoyed large portions of decently priced food. I very much liked my lamb leg (15 Lats), and the...

Friendly young staff, good English and food good. Lamb very good, tiger prawns ok, pike perch interesting but small amount of fish. Wine list decent range and prices. But annoyed that they charge 4 lats for a litre of bottled water, rip off which spoiled it. Fair price no more than two lats or better still a jug free.
