Best of Latvian food

We decided to try the Latvian menu. The prices were surprisingly reasonable. The food was delicious - well cooked and presented. The wine waiter helped choose a wine that did not overpower the food and was a real treat while not the most expensive on the list. The aperitif was Latvian champagne... read more

Food: high level on presentation and taste. Service: quick and professional, impressive! Price: Beer, wine, beef, ceasar salad and coffee (2 persons) 40 euro, a bargain on this high quality level! Atmosphere: "stripped" art deco but still warm feeling with colorful local paintings on the walls. Relaxing! If in Riga, a must.

Good service, diverse menu, modern surroundings. We enjoyed our starter and main course without complaint, but their desserts need a bit of attention and leave a bit to be desired. I really don't think mint jelly (rather like mint sauce) adds anything to a sweet pudding. Overall, a good find in the heart of the old town. Waiting staff were... More

Good restaurant with a very large choise on the menu. From typical local dishes to also the classics. Service, is a bit "cold" but very correct and very efficient. Modern decoration.

In a city where going to a restaurant is like playing russian roulette, the Neiburgs offer a refreshing and outstanding combination of nice food, excellent service and acceptable prices. Menue is quite big. This is often a bad sign, but at Neiburgs it works fine. I recommend the well composed selection of Latvian dishes. I had a taste of them... More

I was delighted with the succession of dishes I chose at Neiburgs early on a February evening. My starter was the Liver Pate on basil bread with pickled mushrooms and caramelised onions. The main dish - veal cheeks with oven roasted vegetables in red wine gravy - was absolutely delicious. The warm almond and pear tart rounded it all off.... More

The menu here is absolutely marvellous. The quality was superb. The staff were a little young and maybe inexperienced, but nonetheless polite and helpful. Sadly when we visited the restaurant wasn't that busy (three other tables occupied with other tourists) and so the atmosphere was a little bit too quiet. I don't think there was any music playing. The place... More

We have visited this place with my wife's sister and her husband. I've to say at first I was a bit sceptical as this place was in the hotel and I've thought it would be touristic. However when we came in things started to change quickly, decor and atmosphere were really nice, warm and classic at the same time. Very... More

Stylish hotel restaurant in the Old Town. We ordered cucumber risotto with seafood, and grilled sardines. Both were fabulous. Very good value considering the quality on offer.
