"Salve" - a restaurant that represents Riga city cuisine There's no better way to express the uniqueness of the people, its habits and tastes than through national cuisine. Restaurant Salve offers a taste of traditional Latvian cuisine in an elegant city manner. Restaurant Salve, which is located in the historic Blue Guard House which is part of the complex of the House of Blackheads on the Town Hall Square - the heart of Old Riga - is the right place to look for exquisite cuisine and enjoy the specialties of the capital. We offer to appraise the elegant and at the same time cozy atmosphere of the restaurant with a fine Dutch style interior to all citizens of Riga and its guests. Internationally trained chefs and waiters guarantee exquisite food flavor and high service standards. In Latin, "Salve" means - "Welcome!" Which excellently reflects the essence of the restaurant, as each guest is gladly welcome there.

I had so much fun here! Another restaurant that is decorated adorably and it had great traditional Latvian food. The salmon cakes were so good and the grey peas were one of my favorites! We also got the black bread soup for dessert - it was amazing! Highly recommend for a Latvian experience!

The restaurant was expecting a large group the night we went so we were very lucky to have reserved one of the last tables. We saw several couples being turned away but the staff did so very graciously and were genuinely apologetic for turning them away. Our waiters, Evgeny and Andre, were superb, very attentive, and took the time to... More

When we went to Salve we had great expactations, but all of them didn't come true. Menu is outdated and not of a good quality. Quite average, but overpriced in comparison to other restaurants in Riga. Service is also a big min. Waitor was quite cocky and couldn't handle our group.

Had a lovely evening at Salve! We had the pork fillet, served with mashed potatoes and cream-porcini sauce, it was very good! Would definetely recommend a visit here!

We wanted to try traditional Latvian food and we weren't disappointed. The food was very nice, we had the homemade dumpling and the salmon fish cakes and both were really good.

A cosy and attractive room - with excellent service. Don't expect Sheffield portions (if you're not from South Yorkshire, this means a mountain of food high enough to hide whoever you're eating with) but the food is really good, and you won't leave feeling hungry. And when you get to the pudding, the Rye Bread Dessert is much, much more... More

Had the very tasty and varied tasting menu for €29 and wasn't disappointed and thought it was good value. The service was very prompt although they have an annoying and rather pointless buzzer console to call the waiter even though he was only 5 feet away. This place does lack the cozy atmosphere that other cheaper Latvian restaurants nearby have... More

It was not that good. The menu was outdated and only contained very standard courses. Went for the homemade sausage which was a true disappointment. You can get way better for the same price somewhere else in Riga.
