La Dolce Vita is an Italian restaurant which opened its doors in 2003. Its Italian owners serve up traditional dishes from their country. Its pizzas are made in a wood-fired oven which is unique in Tartu, and there is a wide range of pasta dishes to choose from. Some pasta is imported from Italy, while the rest is made on site. The menu also features traditional meat dishes. The quality of La Dolce Vita's menu is reflected in its simple, authentic components: Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, tomatoes and olive oil. In the summer months you can enjoy the warmer weather on the restaurant's terrace. The restaurant itself is close to a beautiful park, which is the perfect place to enjoy the gelato (Italian ice cream) that the restaurant offers.

The best Italian in Tartu

This is the only place in Tartu which is running with full throttle force since its opening. Staff knows English very well. The prices are a bit higher, though at the end you will be delighted to fulfill your higher expectation received either from a friend or from a good review.

Ever since this place opened up, it's been my favorite Italian eatery in town - even though the prices are a bit on the higher end, the food is well worth it - you won't get better pizza anywhere else in Tartu, it's even cooked in a proper oven. When price is an issue, they offer daily specials, both pizza... More

If you want a good italian pizza then this is the place to have it at Tartu. Staff is friendly and there are affordable daily specials available. Book in advance if you hit a busy hour because the place is rather popular and is easily filled up during lunch and dinner hours.

Decided on a quick lunch in the middle of the busy working week and we chose to eat here as it is new and offered a little something different. 'Coffee-shop-like' self service with class! The food was simple but "yummy". The roast chicken and roasted vegetables was delicious and oh so succulent, and I asked that it be served with... More

It is quite simple taverna style place and one would expect the price range according to this, but prices were close to Tallinn top restaurant prices. Basic interior, mediocre food and service but prices as in top restaurant. Some years ago the food was good, but my last visit was far from perfect. I'm not sure if I'll go back... More

Apparently, the classic pizza is simply not good enough so it has to be "improved" with a cream sauce. Gross! If you order your pizza without the cream sauce, you'll get a great pizza! The menu is massive. Too much choice is usually a bad thing, in my opinion.

It's always surprising to find native Italian chefs wander so far from the land of their ethnicity AND do so well with their skill. Very good and authentic Italian meal.
