Fantastic wild boar

We wanted to try wild boar, and picked this restaurant based on reviews from Tripadvisor, and we were not disappointed. The food and service here was good but we had high expectations given past reviews this place has received here and on other websites. Negatives were only minor things, such as the seasoning of the food (this applies to nearly every restaurant in Tallin though - do they have a salt shortage) was not good, wine list was okay but... The food is very flavorful, although a bit rich, and both the atmosphere and the service are outstanding. The menu is rather limited and a bit overpriced but overall the dining experience and the dishes are worth the price.

Found the restaurant at random when we walked in old town - went in and had a lovely meal. Decided to go back 2 days later to test out more of the menu. Ate goat and wild boar from the main course - and both beautifully cooked. Tasty appetizers and delicious desserts - definitely worth a visit. Skilled serivitører with... More

We ate dinner here on Saturday night (we had booked a table online). I loved everything about this restaurant! Taste and size of the portions were just perfect, atmosphere pleasant and service was very attentive. I have tried quite many of the popular restaurants in Tallinn and I really recommend this one!

On our first night in Tallinn, we escaped from the rain into the first restaurant we came to that did not have photos of their food out the front. A table was available and when seated we read the menu. We knew immediately that this was going to be a good food and wine experience. The wild boar dish was... More

Cru has a very good chef, but he is let down by the rest of the experience. I had the duck egg and asparagus appetizer, a beautifully cooked deer steak and a chocolate on chocolate dessert. The food was well prepared and tasty, but not exceptional. Something was missing for a restaurant with so many accolades and with high prices... More

First of all, we needed to wait more than one hour to have our meals. Quite a long time with children! Portions were quite small, especially for children. Kids were still hungry after the dinner.

The food here was excellent (I had the goat, which was the tastiest and tenderest goat I have ever eaten), as was the wine selection. It was recommended by an Estonian friend because the chef is actually going to represent Estonia in the chef olympics next year.

Our friends from Sweden wanted a quick lunch in Old Town in Tallinn and we wanted to eat in new place, so we decided to book restaurant Cru. Excellent choise! We know before that the head chef Dmitri Haljukov will represent Estonia in the chef olympics final Bocuse d'Or in Lyon 2015 and seem a good reason to taste his... More
