Hand-made bread, coupled with foods made from natural, local ingredients is a gastronomic delight. Add the city’s most stunning terrace and it’s soulful. We love simple, soulful food made from the finest, freshest ingredients. We don’t like pretentious food, stuffy service, or overpriced menus. Sometimes you just want a good meal. That’s why we created Leib: a restaurant where two guys crazy for food would want to eat themselves. We’ve both worked years in the restaurant business, and we felt the time was right to open our own place. (It helped our decision that we were offered the city’s best terrace.) We are true “food guys,” and one of us is always in the restaurant.

Fresh and local and amazing service

I happened upon this restaurant through Tallinn tourism website, and they said I should check it out because this restaurant was creating amazing new dishes with locally sourced products. I arrived promptly at noon for lunch, and was seated outside. The service was stellar, with a waitress who, it... read more

I happened upon this restaurant through Tallinn tourism website, and they said I should check it out because this restaurant was creating amazing new dishes with locally sourced products. I arrived promptly at noon for lunch, and was seated outside. The service was stellar, with a waitress who, it turns out, lived in Portland, Oregon for six years. So she... More

We visited here for lunch and were very happy with our experience. The food was great and prices quite reasonable. They also had a few options for the children, like fish or chicken with mashed potatoes. The service was very friendly. The restaurant is located at the edge of the old town right outside of the city wall beside a... More

Well, it took me a while to come up with rating for this place. We reserved table before and came here 7 of us. We got a private room where nobody came and bothered us. Waitress was not bad (came in time) but she almost didn't smile. We ordered appetizers (it were fish soups, goat cheese and herring), they divided... More

Our guide turned us onto this place, very charming! We showed up with no reservations but they found us a table inside, although very nice inside, I would recommend securing a table outside. I can only assume you need a reservation, I think we lucked out and the staff is ver accommodating. The food and drinks are wonderful, the have... More

Food was excellent. Great wine list. Only downside was the service was a bit abrupt...maybe this is cultural?

We had reserved a table but no-one had told us that is was in the shady garden. It was getting dark and cold, we ordered the drinks and thought this would be a cold dinner experience (temperature about 15 C and getting colder). Only when we asked if there were tables available inside they offered us a table inside. Everything... More

Only had tea and starters there. Atmosphere is unique as well as design and interior - made as a little hidden garden for dining with open summer kitchen. Great service and food, a little bit pricey for Tallinn but well worth it. They have heating lamps and warm seats.

This restaurant is built around a lovely garden, the service was attentive and personable, & the meal was delicious. Highly recommended! (Do not miss the black bread ice cream!)

The evening we visited was a bit drizzly so we couldn't enjoy the much anticipated experience of dining in the garden. The covered terrace was just as lovely! Upon entering you know you're in for a treat! Food was fresh and well prepared. My friends said their wines were top notch. Making reservations online was a breeze with a cordial... More
