Hidden gem of a restaurant

On the way to Katariina passage, this place is a hidden gem tucked away underground. Do not miss it though - great food, fast service and reasonably priced

This is a fun little restaurant a bit off the beaten path. They do have some sidewalk seating out on the street, but the restaurant itself is entered by turning down a small alley, ducking into an archway, then descending a dark stairway. It's quite quaint, with an ancient "monk's cellar" feel. The secluded location meant very few patrons when... More

Good location just short way off the most busiest tourists roads. Very well decorated dining room. We had our dinner on Saturday evening, thought the restaurant was not busy at all. Food: good local food, but not exceptional. Large portions anyway. Prices are affordable. Service: Estonian style of service - again good, but not really welcoming. However better than in... More

Located down a passage in Katriina Kaik, in the cellar. Nice and quiet. Extensive menu with lots of options of Estonian fare. Accommodating of children, although there is no play area. The pork was excellent, as was the banana split (not what you expect).

The decor was very nice - sturdy wooden tables with a German flair. The menu had lots of tradional Estonian fare but we decided to have an onion soup, a mushroom soup and the house salad. All was very good. Friendly service as well.

It's quite hidden away in St Catherine passage underground, but it deserve well more. Food is excellent and the atmosphere nice and quiet. Old medieval style with candle light only and wood table and chairs, some surrounding music that let you eat in a peaceful location, tasting nice food for a more than reasonable price. I would recommend this place... More

It's slightly hidden this restaurant. This is a good sign after walking along all the noisy beer houses. You see lots of local customers which is always a good sign. The place situated in a cellar has atmosphere and offers very nice food. Service is courteous. Highly recommended.

Munga Kelder is housed in the cellars of an old building which makes it feel very quaint and cosy. The menu isn’t vast, the dessert menu especially is a little disappointing but the food itself is superb. Meals are beautifully presented and cooked and seasoned perfectly. Considering the quality of the food the prices are also very reasonable, if you... More

A cruise to Tallinn to watch some junior basketball. In the first evening we went for good food and chose the Munga Kelder, a restaurant in the old city of Tallinn. The restauran is 10 min walk from the Viru Center in a doorway of a old house. Very pleasant environment just outside the restaurant and in the restaurant itsel,... More
