Description: Narrow Stikliu street in the old town of Vilnius began it‘s history in XVth century, when merchants and craftsmen, invited by Lithuanian Grand Dukes, here started their businesses - shops, workshops and taverns. The building, where currently restaurant “Lokys” is situated, was build in the end of XVth century for one of the merchants both for living and trading purposes.Over centuries, gothic cellars changed their owners for couple of times. Here have been shops, taverns and beerhouses, until 1972, when it was restored and hunters’ restaurant “Lokys” housed here.

Apparently a bit of a Vilnius institution, having been around for a relatively long time serving a range of different game meats including boar and even beaver! There is a dining room upstairs, and a cavernous underground part that is accessed by steep, windy, and somewhat claustrophobic stairs. The lower room is the best for atmosphere for sure. We got... I had the boar but there is a huge selection of meat dishes. Proper cuisine; traditional Lithuanian taste.

Touristy restaurant in the Old Town with dungeon-style basement room. Food was reasonably tasty and plentiful, service OK. Not bad for this type of restaurant, not great either.

I wanted some wild game meat. This place was recommended to me. It's a popular restaurant. I ordered the beaver. It came on a bed of mashed potatoes with some tomatoes on top. The beaver was pretty tender. I could tell the beaver had some gamey flavor but the meat was sauteed in wine so the flavor was good. It... More

Lokys' restaurant was selected for a late night service for a large group which offers traditional Lithuanian cuisine. The menu with the variety of meats offered was attractive to pick each to taste and we never regretted (beaver, roe deer, wild boar). It was delicious. Prices are OK as well as the portions. The restaurant was booked in advance and... More

We had a good dinner at Lokys, a seemingly traditional Lithuanian restaurant. The menu is interesting, the meat was very good, but don't expect haute cuisine. We especially enjoyed the dessert "Chocolate with ice-cream", which contains far more chocolate (real chocolate!) than ice cream.

Restaurant Lokys ( Male bear) was established in Vilnius downtown in 1972 and since then it tries to keep good and old traditions of Lithuanian cuisine. We went where for lunch and we liked that choice in the menu wasn't very big and mostly contains game and different kind of wild meat. We were surprised by a few drinks offered... More

Located in a XVth century building, this restaurant offers meat lovers a varied 'hunters' menu including venison, boar and beaver. A couple of fish and vegetarian options are available for non meat eaters. The waitresses are attentive and provide menus in your spoken language. Tasty food, great atmosphere and service with a smile. Good value for money.

I grew up eating venison and wherever I travel, I seek out restaurants that serve it. Lokys' venison is the best I've had in the last ten years, or even fifteen. The last time I recall such a juicy and well prepared venison was in Heidelberg, Germany. The chanterelles mushrooms that were part of the dish had a fruity flavor... More
