Narrow Stikliu street in the old town of Vilnius began it‘s history in XVth century, when merchants and craftsmen, invited by Lithuanian Grand Dukes, here started their businesses - shops, workshops and taverns. The building, where currently restaurant “Lokys” is situated, was build in the end of XVth century for one of the merchants both for living and trading purposes.Over centuries, gothic cellars changed their owners for couple of times. Here have been shops, taverns and beerhouses, until 1972, when it was restored and hunters’ restaurant “Lokys” housed here.

Good Restaurant for Venison

They offer a good menu for Venison and boar meat. They also serve in the rustic celluar in small cosy rooms with 4 - 5 tables, very authentic. Good service from engaged Waiters. Only few wines are served by the glass.

This is a nice and traditional restaurant. It was very full of tourists when we visited it, and it seemed very popular with Scandinavians as most people were speaking Swedish or Norwegians. Especially the lower floor is very nice, even though it is not so cozy with too much light. The menu looks interesting, and we were very pleased with... More

We picked this place mainly to try the beaver stew we noticed on their menu, and we weren't disappointed, Although the portion did not quite satisfy my husband's healthy appetite! I had the lovely mushroom soup and we finished the meal with a selection of Lithuanian cheeses and with a delicious homemade liqueur. The prices are higher than other places... More

We were told that this was the oldest restaurant in Vilnius, and it was certainly lovely. There was much on the menu in the wild boar, venison, etc. line which was different and generally delicious. As with most things in Vilnius it was also excellent value and I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone with a taste for the "wilder" side... More

Had this review been based on my meal I would have given it an excellent but unfortunately my husbands meal was not so good. We shared a plate of Lithuanian cold meats as a starter which was nice. I then had a roast quail with cowberry sauce, pearl barley and poached pear and it was all delicious. My husband however... More

We attended the program titled "Manor Lords' feast". The food was simply enchanting, so delicious it was. The program itself featured customs and traditions of the medieval times. We had real fun.

Lokys is tucked away a little just off the main street heading up and away from Cathedral Square. It does a wide and very imaginative array of dishes - its certainly the only time I've ever seen beaver on a restaurant menu - which are well prepared and well served. The restaurant is refined but without feeling pretentious or stuffy... More
