Excellent food, unique setting

This restaurant is located in Kuanas Old Town which in itself is very quaint. A mixture of architectural styles reflect the varied history. The restaurant is in brick lined vaults. A restaurant which is full of character, beautiful inside, being located down in the old cellars. Nice menu with plenty of choice, we really enjoyed the food, especially the fantastic chocolate cake with olives. Prices reasonable, charming and attentive staff. A definite re-visit on our next trip to Kaunas.

This restaurant definitely deserves a visit. We celebrated here birthday with family last Saturday. We had various starters, which were very tasty. For mains we had pork, catfish and duck.Catfish was average - to my taste it was over-seasoned, I was not able to taste a fish itself. Duck breast was excellent and so was the pork. Special thanks to... More

I recently visited Kaunas for work and wanted to organize a celebration for about 17 friends and colleagues. Senieji Rusiai was recommended by locals. The manager Jolita was very helpful and made good suggestions about food and wines. She even arranged for us to have local pianist Rolandas Dzedulionis play for our party, - a very nice touch. The waiter,... More

Senieji Rusiai is one of the best restaurants in Kaunas, that i visit occasionally when i'm in town. My favourite dish is beef tartar which is without consideration the best in town! Overall the food is excellent! Highly recommended!

One of our favourite places to eat whilst visiting Kaunas. Excellent food (presentation and taste) at good value for money. Friendly staff and an interesting painting on the wall, depicting Napoleon and the Frebch Mid Army crossing the Nemunas river. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We ate here two consecutive nights . The food is wonderful a mix of Lithuanian and international cuisine. There is lovely ambience although being mid week there were few diners . The waiters although pleasant tended to remove your plate immediately after you had finished even though the rest of the party might be still eating! A large TV was... More

We had ordered this restaurant for our wedding's dinner. Everything was perfect. The restaurant manager Jolita very nice, friendly, understandable and helpful person. We had a lot of wishes and it was realized 100%. Food, staff, atmosphere was superb. We have got saxophonist as a gift for our festival. It was very nice gesture. Before we chose "Senieji rusiai" we... More
