Good but overpriced

We decided we wanted steaks and this restaurant looked good with tables outside. My wife's fillet steak was excellent. However, I decided to try a dry-aged entrecôte after seeing good things written about this meat. Wow, was I disappointed! Fat, fat and more fat running through it. Simply no... read more

WE stopped in Bratislava, for 4 nights, and ate and drank in different places each time. this for an evening meal was by far the best for the price. Sat outside, under one of the heaters, as it was getting a little cool. Service was excellent, very helpful waiter, me and the wife both had steaks, which were cooked to... More

This was a good meal in Bratislava - we only went here as the lonely planet suggestion of cafe Verne seemed odd as the food didn't look great at all - El gaucho was a decent steak and nice wine however it is far more expensive than most restaurants around it

We sat outside in the covered area and the whole meal was a delight. The attention to detail, from the service, the home baked bread and the delicious steaks, superbly cooked, was all wonderful. It is above average cost-wise for Bratislava but you get what you pay for in terms of quality in all aspects. The service included local wine... More

I'm not big fan of steaks I eat them once a month but I have a good overview of steak house in Central Europe. I must admit steaks at El Gaucho plus side dishes where absolutely astonishing! Argentinian beef, well seasoned fillet medium rare was soft, fruity and tasteful. The small complaint I would make only on waiting time

Sat here on the outdoor part of the restaurant. The waiters were polite, and offered good service. The food came as ordered, medium done, and was tender and delicious. Sauce, side dishes etc had to be ordered separately, and raised the price to well above Bratislava's average.

It is a no brainer. Go there, order a steak and enjoy. They simply make really excellent steaks - which means that they do not only serve excellent cuts, but also have the kitchen know-how not to spoil them. One of those few places in Central-Eastern-Europe, where medium is not medium-well, and medium-rare is not medium. When in Bratislava,we never... More

If you want steaks and don't mind about the price, this is for you. High quality service and high quality food. We had waguy beef and entrécôte and both were superb. Orange pannacotta finished the meal very nicely. We are still talking about the tiger prawns my brother had as entrées so there really wasn't weak spot to be found.... More
