Best in Bratislava

We went for lunch and it was the best meal we had in Bratislava. A nice local feel in the bar, quick service. The garlic soup was superb and rustically presented. The beer was also the best we had in Bratislava. Go there. Eat the garlic soup. Drink the beer. Do it, do it now.

We just had a few beers in here as we had read that it is the place to go when in Bratislava. We didn't try any of the food as we were booked in a restaurant in the evening but it seemed to be busy with locals eating so that is always a good sign. Very interesting place, we had... More

This place is just tourist trap. Meals are not very tasty, beers are usual macro fare and staff is mostly rude and not very polite. I was there several times, always the same experience.

Delicious and traditional food, nice and quick service and good beer. Prices are not cheap, but fair.

We found a very friendly young crowd of mostly locals here and spent our whole evening on the "terrace". Each area is set out differently to show you Slovak culture and history. Staff are always floating around so ordering another drink is never a problem. Despite our concerns at trying the national dish, we gave it a go here and... More

From some of the reviews I wasn't sure if it would be a bit touristy or basic but it was really great. Service was fast and the food nice and also filling, we tried the soup in bread bowl and it was great. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff too, the place has a nice old charm to it and it's... More

We had read about it before we went and it was on the list of places to go whilst visiting Bratislava. It was all we expected and more. We went on Saturday so it was busy with the locals relaxing on their weekend. What a place. Really olde world with quirky rooms all over creeking squeeky floor boards all adding... More

Had dinner here and the food was ok. I ordered goulash with potato dumplings, my partner ordered the potato pancakes filled with stewed meat. Both dishes were tasty but very salty. Would probably go again but would order something different. Dinner including a glass of wine and a beer came to €22. We asked for tap water too but it... More

when Slovak pub first opened, it was one very exciting place where I used to take all my visitoors from abroad. I stopped there this week to enjoy some of slovak traditional foood (I live abroad myself so it is precious for me) but was deeply disappointed. I had Bryndzove halusky (cheese dumplings) but the quality was the worst I... More

We visited this pub on a travel book recommendation - we were however disappointed really, Staff were really nice and there was live singing on the evening we visited, but I wasn't too keen on the food. My son enjoyed his steak but we all thought that it was expensive for the quality of the food - and it was... More
