During our time in Hungary we never felt uncomfortable or that the language barrier was a problem. But when we were ushered to the very back room of the restaurant (which was basically emtpy) next to the giant speakers blasting out irritating elevator music (the waiter either didn't want to turn it off or couldn't be bothered to try to... The atmosphere in this restaurant is amazing, there areso many things and antiques to look at but do not let this distract you from the excellent food. The menu is well illustrated but looks too touristy imo. Staff is good but could do with some more English lessons. A very good experience though, try it.

We ate lunch at Rab Raby with a tour group. It was billed as a "light lunch," probably because the main course was the goulash--all you could eat. Everyone at our table had seconds because it was so good. So it was anything but a light lunch. We found that the wine by the glass was not the most smooth... More

He who walks in Szentendre, in any case have to try this restaurant! The decor is unconscious. Old instruments, old photos, agricultural tools, fishing equipment. I really like a museum. The food is very tasty, and the staff is nice and fast.

You should go there just for the decor, if not the food. It is unique as you are surrounded by antiques and memerobillia. from the family photos to the room heater, the clocks, the helmets, Its all over the place chock a block. Never seen anything quite like this before.

This is going to be one of the most memorable restauraunts of a two week multi-country trip. The ambience is out of this world with every inch covered with artefacts & objects from ancient households. The food is served elegantly - example the goulash is served on flame and is delicious. The brew is good and so are some of... More

Rab Raby used to stand out among the many tourist traps in picturesque Szentendre, but is falling behind. The food is still acceptable and the decor worth a photo or two ( a collection of old household items, bells, clocks, fishing tools). Yet the service is really substandard, with dishes being misunderstood, choices confused (e.g we asked for Olaszrizling, they... More

The goulash was quite good, but difficult to enjoy as the summer heat was just unbearable. The collection of odds and ends (netted plastic shark, suits of armor, mandolins galore, etc.) proved to be amusing enough for the visit. I would come back - preferably on a chilly day!
