Interesting experience on the hill

Great location on the hillside, nice view from most outside tables. You can get there by car only. Food was great, but I disliked the too friendly slightly drunk waiters.

Visited here with my family after seeing the reviews here. Arrived about 20.10 and was greeted very warmly by the owner, he showed us the rather unusual menu ( pictures of the animals with various prices, he's not the best artist!) and then explained what each picture represented, he spoke very good English and German and we had no problem... Eccentric owner, nice food. But they have to learn how to grill the meat (maybe we have different opinion what does it mean medium). It was good, but should be better. My wife and I tried two differents kind of meat the result was the same - over cooked, but it wasn't bad. Tomato soup was good. Goat soup it... More

I've been to the restaurant a few times over the last few holidays in Hévíz and the restaurant seems to get better every time. The food on offer is something totally different from the other restaurants in town (this week we had pheasant breast with wild berry and meat ragout, and goat fillet served with a wild garlic sauce) and... An odd place at the end of town, visitors should be aware of the funnily excentric, borderline theatrical service. The choice of meats is also quite unique, not the "wiener schnitzel" kind, rather they have venison, horse and donkey meat along with duck, roar and other familiar or "exotic" choices. The plates are nice, the portitions taste and quite large.... More

Wonderful meat dishes, beautifully cooked in a charming restaurant with either outside, terraced tables overlooking the vineyards or cosy inside tables. Not the place to go if you are vegetarian! The goose breast wrapped around fresh pear slices was one of the tastiest starters I have ever had and the wild deer was sublime - as was the wild boar... More

Visited the place based on the recomendation of our hotel's owner. We found delicious, freshly made dishes on the hillside, with familiar, cheerful and chatty staff!

Visitng Heviz? At the end of a rough path lined with working vineyards and wine cellars lies Oreg Harang (the Old Bell). It is so worth the walk from the unpaved parking area. You can eat indoors but we sat outside for a casual private anniversary dinner. The owner brings you a blackboard with little cartoons of various animals (cow,... More

We arrived pretty late (8.30pm) and the waiter wasn't too happy to have new hungry customers. We checked the specials menu and have opted for water buffalo and goat. We had local wine with that. The cook took its time, but then we were served delicously looking plates with our meat and wild-garlic potatoe, "dodole", "polenta" and other side-dishes. Everything... More

We would have visited this restaurant but disappointedly it was closed every time so ended up going elsewhere. Perhaps a little more info in the website or even at a door regarding winter opening hours wouldn't go a miss.
