Great food not as great staff/watch out for not being ripped off!

We have visited this place for dinner twice, because the we loved the colourfulness of the Hungarian cuisine. Food was absolutely perfect and tasteful. Staff could be much friendlier. If you are not paying with forint watch out for not being RIPPED OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were sick of meat so we had fish that night: the trout soup and the fried catfish were good. Staff was ok BUT this was the only restaurant in Hungary (out of 7) that put on my bill a 10% service charge. That was extremely disappointing expecially because it wasn't written on the menu.

I have been there with a foreign friend and we had dinner. The place is lovely, has a good athmosphere. The service is excellent, we received our food quite quickly, people are smiling. The strawberry soup is raspberry in fact, but it is delicious. :-) It is a translation issue in the menu. I ate "baking dish knuckle" for one... More

I was in Csulok Csarda with business friends several times because is near to a pension where I used to stay. I liked very much the csulok specialties prepared by the Chef. The restaurants serves a very large range of meals prepared, mainly from pork legs (csulok), very well prepared, very tasty, Hungarian hot. Very good for a very good... More

Food was great. Wine , both white and red, was good. But what a rip off. It is stated on the menu that all charges are included. But still, when they understand you are tourists, they overcharged with every possible stuff :-( :-( :-(

If you like traditional Hungarian food I can recommend halaszle (fish soup) - one of best I had. If you want to try something new, that tastes like heaven, definitely try raspberry soup, it's delicious. It's shame that stuff wasn't as good as food was. Service took too long, they were nut much friendly and when we came early next... More

Situated not far from the huge Cathedral, we were able to sit outside for lunch out of the sun. A cooling beer and a glass on dry white Hungarian wine were welcome additions as I ordered Camembert and charred vegetables as a hot entree, expecting deep fried crumbed Camembert. Rather it came cooked like Haloumi - didn't quite work. My... More

After trying a couple other restaurants which were closed for private parties or just inexplicably closed, we went here. Unfortunately we chose to sit outside - it was a very hot day, and inside would have been cooler, but that wasn't their fault. The waiters were friendly and the food pretty good - my mom had trout and I had... More

We popped in here for a night cap after dinner as this was on the way back to our accommodation. We had a pleasant drink, but when we wanted to order another at 30 seconds past 10pm we were told the bar closed at 10.00. No warning, no flexibility. This was Friday night in peak season, so was something of... More
