I went here with some friends for a birthday while holidaying , we had a great time it was mid week and empty , but the staff looked after us very well and the entertainment was even good , the food was impressive and tasty . However although I enjoyed the decor , it could be construed as a bit... More

We went to this restaurant after reading a review on the internet and it's true: best restaurant we went during or holidays! The decor is a little overwhelming, but the ambiance was great. We were the only couple during the entire evening and had the luck that there was live piano music. Speaking of romance... :-) The food was really... More

We had a five-course New Year's Eve menu with cocktails at this superb restaurant. Exceptionally fine food, great selection of Hungarian wines, impeccable service and meticulous attention to every detail, plus live music. Entertainment for all the senses. Last but not least, excellent value for money, where can you have all this for 40 EUR per person?

This is one of the best meals I have ever had period. The wild game selection on the menu is huge...not to mention the appetizers that were so good and so unique. I had the cream of mushroom forest soup with goose liver dumplings.. Flavor was excellent! My meal of Goose liver ragout madly with baked fruits...outstanding.

This place would have been heaven 300 yrs ago for a nobleman's hunting after-party but in 2013 to see so many murdered animals in one place is just too much. Accommodating someone in our party who was unable to search longer for a restaurant we stayed. They had one vegetarian option (no vegan) and the one who tried it was... More

Well priced at Huf130,000 plus tip for 2 starters and 7 mains plus a beer, soda and 1.5 bottles of wine I had a fantastic mushroom soup and the other starter of cold cherry soup was also enjoyed Mains were all great being typical Hungarian style with large meat portions with very little in the way of a vegetable beyond... We have been here twice, once as part of a large group. The food is good for meat eaters, a limited choice if you eat fish and totally useless if you are a vegetarian. The flies were still around, perhaps they come from the stuffed animals on the walls. Service is good and you do get a "free" palinka at... More

The food was delicate and the wine was good, live piano performance suited the old style restaurant, just like other comments mentioned. However, there are about ten small bugs flying around while I was eating. I hit four of them, and the rest of them stayed in my empty glass...(obviously, sweet red wine) I pointed the bugs to the waiter.... More

After two consecutive visits to this restaurant (I'll explain later why two) I'm ready to name Feherszarvas Vadasztanya Candidate#1 to my personal Restaurant of the year award (for 2012 it was Kindli in Zurich). So let me detail my impression. Food. If you want to try Hungarian "wild" food, it's the best place to go. We tried two dishes from... More
