What an amazing feast for the eyes. The interior that is! It is stunning. So much gold leaf and the friezes beautiful. What a gem in this city. Felt so special just being there. We just had a drink but, the food looked beautiful. We had a Crem brûlée coffee with ice cream and served with 2 small shortbread type... More

The building was amazing with excellent ornate fixtures and fitting. The restaurant is very busy and you were made to feel rushed so the staff could get more customers in (for more tips) The food was ok as best but the price was very expensive for what you got. You are given a postcard (free) for them to send to... More

The building was amazing, worth to see. The waiter was very polite even though they were very busy. I ordered vanilla cappuccino and Hungarian cheesecake. Coffee was very good but they forgot the cheesecake. We couldn't wait so we ordered a check and left.

The New York Café in Budapest is a gem of a place. As pastry, we chose an assortment of Hungarian specialties, which was an excellent choice. Enough sugar for a decade, but well worth the splurge. Unfortunately, the Café mélange I ordered arrived in form of a sweetened (!!!) latte macchiato. With no apologies or discernment that the error happened... More

The building is beautifully restored , the food was good nothing exceptional and it was really expensive I would just look through the windows you can pretty much see everything .some people where just ordering drinks so they could have a look this is probably a good idea or just go to a museum or the opera house

Came in here on a very rainy day, it was a treat for the eyes. Absolutely gorgeous, so grand. Sat in awe gazing round when the waiter came to ask what we wanted, we hadn't even looked at the menu. Waiter was a bit put out that we asked him to come back in 5 mins. Ended up getting a... More

We went here on our second night in Budapest, having walked past and seen the decor through the window. It definitely felt really special and the interior is a real knockout. Some reviews seem to suggest style over substance with this place, which we didn't find at all. My partner commented it was the best steak he had ever had.... More

That's how they style themselves, and if you like rococo nymphs and cupids displayed in a huge mirrored pink and gold room, which I do, it may well be. Coffee was good and reasonably priced for the experience. Contrary to a previous reviewer's experience there seemed to be no problem with taking photos- flashes were going off all the time.... More
