Splendor of an era gone by

Came here for some coffee and cake with my Husband. I loved the interior that is reminiscent of a beautiful era long ago. My cake was lovely as well and my ever critical husband said it was the best coffee he had had aside from in Italy. Obviously this place is a total tourist trap and grossly... read more

This was a "must stop" on the Big Bus Tour - I wish we had just taken a look through the door, shivered at the tacky opulence and got on the next bus. Instead, it took over an hour to be served with two drinks and a plate of desserts (both were very nice), another age for the bill, we... More

Restaurant is very pretty but the food was terrible. We went for breakfast and the omelettes were brown and dried out. Coffee was terrible. I'd recommend a walk around the adjoining hotel and café because it is very pretty but go elsewhere to eat.

I was under the impression, that I always liked Café New York until actually stopped. The place is opulent, to the point of

Came here because I had seen it on TV before visiting Budapest and its reputation made me want to come and see it for myself. As soon as you walk in the surrounding decor is breathtaking, I don't think I've ever been to a Cafe more beautiful. We took lots of pictures (ourselves - as the waiter refused to take... More

The restaurant was one of the locations you must visit in budapest. In fact, it is included in the hop on hop off bus tours. The food was also good but pricey. You could buy more reasonably priced food from other restaurants with the same quality. Maybe you are also paying for the place?

Convenient if staying at Boscolo Hotel. Famous but more for history and atmosphere than food. Dinner had relatively limited menu and while good, food was not great. Breakfast buffet better than dinner.

This is a luxurious café that is well worth a visit! The interior is fantastic and it is nice to sit there and look at all the details and paintings. The service was good and also the pastry! We tried different things and everything tasted well.

We had dinner at the Cafe one evening as two couples. The food tasted delicious and the interior was very fancy but the staff tried too hard. We had one person to give the menus, one to take the order, one to deliver the drinks, one or two to bring the food, so eventually no-one knew what was really going... More

What a delightful experience, all the waiters dressed impeccably in uniform and constantly making you feel that you are the most important person in the room!! Despite only buying a coffee we was treated as if we had bought dinner, nothing to much trouble and smiles galore. Sumptuous setting!
