My girlfriend and I visited Budapest. We heard such a nice things about this place, so we had decided to go there and have a wonderful night. It was unforgettable! I loved the style of the restaurant , the Hungarian cuisine was perfect and very delicious! Thanks for Fecske Viktor who gave us a very kind and helpful service!

After reading many suggestions on the internet, we decided to have our afternoon coffee in New York cafe. The overall experience was very disappointing. We have not been welcomed by smiley faces for sure. Most of the waiters are too cold. We have been shown our table. We had four different type of deserts. The reputation it is really overrated.... A unique place to visit in Budapest. You are going to love the interior which is very "royal" and the products of it are very tasteful and in reasonable prices!

Wanted to see this place as we'd heard so much about it. Surroundings are stunning. Staff were pleasant and we didn't feel rushed despite the cafe being busy. Had coffee and cake which was lovely. Yes it's a bit more expensive than other places nearby but what a lovely place!

The size as well as the decor is no less than a palace! We went there for a nice experience and we had more than that. Coffee was good and so was the chocolate cake. Looking at the grand entrance we thought of just dropping in, just for an experience, and we were pleasantly surprised as how big it was... More

The place is amazing and worth the visit , you feel like you are in the titanic. We ordered dinner and it is was fine but that's it. Then we ordered a triple cake and honestly it was very bad, it's a coffee place and the deserts were not good, cold and not in a high quality. I guess that... More

Beautiful restaurant with great food. Our waiter, Fecske Viktor, provided great service and the piano music really added to the atmosphere! Definitely a place to go to!

Charming and a real sense of life in the glory days of café society in Budapest. Worth the money and experience. We all deserve a few indulgences when we travel. Centrally located and near the very trendy Jewish quester with all the ruin bars etc. Tram 6 goes past the door and very close a subway station.

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
