Fausto is a little and tasty Italian gem in Budapest. The Menu and the specials are well presented. Prosciutto di Sauris and choice of cheese are top!

It has a very nice atmosphere. Nicely furnished, good service and excellent food. The lentil soup and fish was super good. Expect western EU prices here although it is absolutely worth it.

I had a lunch with 2 other friends in the Osteria side (Restaurant was closed at that time). Food was absolutely fantastic and tasty, although the portions are more of a French novel cousin, tortellini dish in particular left me hungry. One of my friends felt also uncomfortable as sometimes some of the staff was staring at his piercings :).... More

Fausto's is just opposite to the Jewish Synagogue, easy to find; the place consists of two resaurants - one called Osteria with a more modern bistro feel, and a classical 'Ristorante' When I visited, the Ristorante was fully booked, but I could freely choose from both menus. Exquisite service, splendid food and with divine attention to details. Truly the very... More

Four of us ate in the Ristorante. The food was amazing. The food combinations great. The service was very efficient but unobtrusive. Highly recommended.

Visited Faustus yesterday. Amazing food! Excellent service! The atmosphere of the restaurant remind us about the best places in Europe and Italy. Good wines, fantastic deserts. Will visit this place again.

I can only comment on the Ristorante from looking around and eyeing the menu and from friends who've eaten there and raved about it. One friend had the chef suggest and then prepare something off-menu. That's the kind of place the Ristorante is- but it isn't cheap. My visits have been limited to the excellent, more affordable Osteria. You'll have fewer... More

Tried both restaurant side and the bistro. Couldn't fault either. Amazing food and staff.. Stayed nearby at the continental holiday, which is an easy walk away. Went two nights as we so enjoyed the food.

Thank AnneDM

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
