First off. Make a reservation they have limited seating possibilities. Smokers and nonsmokers are well separated which is a luxury in Budapest. Although it's one of the pricier restaurants in the city it's well worth it, and compared to many European capitals it is still cheap. The staff is very proffesional and knowledgeable about the food served and the different... more

Our concierge booked us in here - "the last table" and we could believe it. An Italian menu, not over long but everything we chose was excellent. Starters were the ham and the cheese (sounds dull, it wasn't) , we got them to split them and have half each, which made it even better. Then we had two pasta dishes,... more

I have been here few times, always had the same impression. This is an expensive, elegant restaurant in the downtown. The food portions are relative small in Italian standards, but very tasty. Good wine selection. The atmosphere is a bit snobby. Reservation is needed. If you care value, Krizia (Mozsár street) is a better choice more

During our short 3-day visit to Budapest, our hotel concierge recommended Fausto's as a good Italian place, and we loved it so much that we returned the next night, even though we normally like to try something different each night. The food was first-rate, with perfectly-cooked pasta, and fresh ingredients. Every entree was perfect, as were the salads and desserts.... more

Faustos is a great restaurant with the wow factor, a little pricey but the quality of the food and wine is excellent. The service is very good which is a great change since a lot of restaurants have slow service. If you cannot get a booking at Faustos you should try Donatella's Kitchen which is literally 20m away around the... more

My husband and I do not recommend Fausto's. We both are adventurous eaters yet had difficulty finding something on the menu that we wanted...unusual combinations. I decided on the chestnut gnocci with pumpkin sauce and truffles, but it was mushy and not tasty. My husband's venison was fine, but we recommend that you try Menza's in Frans Liszt Square...the food... more

We ate here on Saturday 2nd May. Like other reviewers we decided on Faustos after reading previous reviews. The staff were astounding. They all spoke excellent English, they suggested dishes when asked, they selected suitable wines and managed to do all of this without being intrusive. Even though it was quite busy, you never felt as if you were being... more

I visit Fautso's immediately after reading the no.1 ranking and reviews here. I have to say I was not disappointed with the restaurant and the food served there. My only quibble was with the ravioli I had for my main course. I know how well cooked you like your pasta is a matter of taste but this is an Italian... more
